I want to underline to check for afib. What can it hurt? Get a stress test or get a Kardia and check it yourself under exertion. If negative and doc says all is well and you feel healthy, have at it!

Thanks for the advice. I requested a stress test from the cardiac rehab clinic a couple of weeks ago. They said they are reluctant to do them on bentall procedures until after 12 weeks. Hoping I can get one soon

get a Kardia and check it yourself under exertion

I need to sit still for a couple minutes before my Kardiamobile 6L will generate a useable recording. Immediately after exercising my Kardia reports there is too much interference to analyze what it is recording.

A stress test typically involves eventually reaching max heart rate, so it sounds reasonable that they wait until 12 weeks after surgery. Personally, I'd probably wait longer than that before going to max HR.

My cardiac rehab (USA) put every patient on a 6 lead monitor during every cardiac rehab session. They also checked blood pressure before, after, and twice while we were exercising. Wearing the monitor while on a treadmill, exercise bike, etc., was annoying, but it did give them a good picture of our performance.
