Glad you are on this side and manuveuring around those speedbumps. Tingling and numbness were some of my fun things too and they still surface now and again. Continued success on recovery road.

Glad to read your post, Brian; glad things are going better. Can you ask the surgeon why the blood vessel issue occurred in your eyes? I've read not to make any changes to vision prescriptions for quite some time after OHS also. I too had a lot of excessive tingling and numbness in my arms and hands for quite some while post-OHS, and still do when I sleep, if my shoulders come too far forward. Take care and post again.

Hi Brian,

I haven't been on here in a couple of days due to my own issues with recovery (my surgery was a week before yours) but I am so glad to hear that you are home and recovering nicely! I too have suffered from migraines, almost daily since my surgery. They are a bit different than before in that I get the aura and lose my vision but I don't always get the excruciating headaches. My head hurts, to be sure, but it isn't as dehabilitating as before. I am thinking it is due to the all the blood pressure meds? I was on a ton of drugs on the hospital for BP but now, 2 weeks out, I am only on 25 mg Atenolol. I discontinued the Cozaar and Norvasc and cut the Atenolol from 100 to 25 mg so that seems to help. I certainly know what you mean about your back being in knots....that has been my primary pain source...not my sternum....except for the recent development of pleural effusions which was painful but seems to have resolved. I too underwent 21 minutes of total circulatory arrest and do not feel that I suffered from any cognitive ill effects (unless we just don't realize it....in which case guess it doesn't really matter).
Congratulations Brian and keep us updated as to your progress!
