Don't Be Alarmed, It's A Hoax!

Don't Be Alarmed, It's A Hoax!

Anytime you get an email that says Microsoft, AOL, Yahoo or whatever and some virus company, it's always a hoax. The only ones that issue warnings are virus companies themselves. You can read about the hoax at the link below:

Symantec Security Response encourages you to ignore any messages regarding this hoax. It is harmless and is intended only to cause unwarranted concern.

Yep. You shouldn't believe everything you get in an email.

The best thing to do is do a search for the virus in question on the web and see what you find. I'll go out on a limb and say that 100% of the time you'll see that it's a hoax.

My rule of thumb is, never open any email attachment with the file extension of ".exe" or things that I'm unsure of.
