Update on visual disturbances

Hey All
A little more about me. I have two sisters. An eight year old and a three year old sister. I live with both my mom and dad (at least for right now, things are kinda rocky ) I have 2 dogs, Lilo and Stitch. My dad named them. I am in 9th grade, and making good grades . I love to read..but it depends on what it is I am reading. I can't play any sports...I can only watch, and that's probably the biggest change for me. Right now, this is all new to me. All of my problems started back in October of 2003, and my doctor didn't know what I had. Well I guess I will go. More about the doctor later.

I was just in to see my eye Dr. today and he dilated my eyes to take a good look inside to make sure that these visual disturbances weren't caused by a problem with my eyes. He said my eyes look great, perfectly healthy, so he is saying that he truely believes they are occular migraines. He said migrains are so complex and different in every person that it's really hard to figure out what causes them. He told me to keep a log when I get them, include what I have eaten or what I had to drink, if I was really tired (didn't get much sleep the night before, if I was stressed, what time of day it was, just anything that I can think of that happened around the same time. This might give me some clues as to what's causing them.

I thought maybe it was aspritame or caffine, but for several weeks after my surgery, I was staying away from all of that stuff and having the VD everyday, several times a day.....so who knows.

Sorry, to hear of your experience. I started having vision problem back in 1991 when my blood pressure started. Whan my pressure was up I would have them. It was scary sometimes it lasted longer than others. The worst wass one time when I was driving through Ky to see my Mom and and to pull off the road till it went away. My eye Dr. thoughts they might TIA's but we were never sure.
