Woo hoo, Ross. I've been thinking about you and Lyn all week and imagining this horrible HR person informing her that her job wouldn't be there any more, just like what happened to my husband 12 years ago. I'm so glad she's got a little breathing room now.

Also, Steve, thanks for sharing that story about your wife. You may have shared that before, and I just missed it, but I don't remember. I'm so sorry for you and your boys' terrible loss but am happy to hear that your employer worked with you. There is still some goodness in the world.

I was all psyched out to go one on one with HR and didn't have too. Man what a let down. :D

Where's your resourcefulness Ross? Must be worn out from all the going's on in your home, because the fully rested, fully wicked Ross would have no problems finding someone else's butt to kick just for the fun of it..

Glad to hear there are some sensible people Lyn works with.

I truly believe the world has many many more good people than bad people, but it can sure seem, at times, that the bad ones all live in your area.

Glad to her it Ross. I hope it will not be too much for her to return on the 25th. Did the doctor give you any idea of recuperation period after the stent removal?

Talked to the Doctors nurse and she said 10 minutes recovery time. She said it'll take 2 minutes to pull the thing out. There may be some post removal bleeding and burning, which is why we suggested the 25th as a return date. Gives her 4 days for things to settle down some.

Ross, did you ever find out if it was discriminatory for Lynn's company to not offer/hold STD/LTD on her?
It's offered to no one, not even management, so it's not an issue.

How is Lyn feeling now? We all just need to pray that Lyn continues to improve and is up to returning at that time.
She's improving slowly. The nurse told me she'll feel a whole lot better when that thing is removed. It's causing alot of the pain and such that she's having right now.

Hey I don't go looking for troubles. It comes to me whether I want it too or not. I actually wish it would find someone else to pick on for a change! Not that I wish anything bad on anyone else, but we've had our share and then some. I just hope they aren't playing this Mr. Niceguy game until she's back, then finding some excuse to let her go. I've seen that done already out of this place.

LOL! I can imagine....

BUT...the good news is that you received good news without having to let them see a bad side of you.

;)

Congrats!

To our dear Ross & Lyn,

So happy to hear that one thing at least went your way. It was certainly time for the tide to turn even a little.

Maybe other things will fall into place too. We can only hope & pray.

Thanks for letting us share in this victory.

Are you saying that if I go to bed early, be a good boy and say my prayers, I'll wake up in the morning and our entire debt will have been written off?

If I had any influence on it - yes. Someday your ship will come in and, hopefully, it won't be a leaky rowboat.

I am still a believer that good things happen to good people and to those that wait. However, no one ever mentioned how long we had to wait.

So glad to hear that at least this problem is resolved!

I'm thinking along Gina's line..............Maybe this is the start of many good things to come................just hope we're both alive to enjoy them. :D

FMLA was put into place to PROTECT YOUR JOB.

Pam, I waited to see your response on this one because this is what I thought. I started to tell Ross that FMLA should be a job protection not a job ender (pardon my english), but I didn't want to say that if I wasn't remembering correctly. I used to be in HR in here in the state Education Department, but I'm gone mushy in my remembrance of many things. Never handled FMLA anyway.

ROSS: Congratulations on the outcome of the kidney saga. Hope everything works out for your wife and that her employer doesn't hassle her anymore.

hey there...

hey there...

Hi Ross. I hope this all means that life's daily rhythm can turn toward normal again. Wishing you the very best as you round the next corner!

Maybe you should write a book. I mean really. With that sense of humor, and your knowledge of so many bureaucracies, it could be a humdinger! I'm sure out of 1400 members, someone might be able to assist you in editing and publishing it. At least you could vent all your frustrations somewhere.

Seek to enjoy this time together, you and Lyn. Find some roses to smell, find shapes in the clouds, go out and contemplate the stars.....maybe you'll see a shooting star to wish on!!

Continuing best wishes!

Marguerite
