Interestingly enough, Joe's room air oxygen level wasn't too bad, but he is still having some problems breathing. It might be old scar tissue (he's had lung surgery on both sides and a heart port procedure through one of the lungs). He has a pulmonary specialist working with him also. He's had several pulmonary tests, including checking for phrenic nerve damage. It only shows diminished abilities on that side, but the cause is not apparent. Tomorrow or the next day, they will be doing a bronchoscopy, just to make sure.
His PH seems to be responding to the medications, and they are increasing them slowly.
I'm pleased that the docs are going painstakingly slowly and very methodically. Joe's got some very complicated issues which have many cross over areas. One medication adjustment, could throw off some others, so they really have to go slow.
His CHF is being stubborn, but I'm sure when the right combination of drugs is found, everything will fall into place. Joe may not be in 100 percent health and he'll be on more medication, but I do feel that his quality of life will be better and with careful monitoring, I think we'll be able to get some enjoyment back into our lives.
