Christmas Weather in Scotland

Christmas Weather in Scotland

Today we awoke to the most beautiful day ...the sun was shining and it was cool which is fairly warm for us at the this time of year . Before lunch my husband and myself took the dog a walk along the golf course and beach . The North Sea was at its best with huge waves making a wonderful surf. The sun was shining, the sky was blue .and the hills were sprinkled with white snow ..it was a truely bonnie day . Tonight however the temp has gone down below freezing and we have a hard frost here .
Today was a good day to be alive ..I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas Day as much as I enjoyed mine :)

If our roads aren't open in a reasonable amount of time, everyone will get on the phone to the Town garage and yell and holler. By morning the roads will be totally plowed, sanded and salted, and the main ones will be almost dry.

The plow drivers love it, they get extra pay, and a holiday to boot. You should see them go, they drive very fast and the plows are huge. Everyone with a blade on the front of their truck will be out doing driveways for "cash". Just saw some snowmobilers on the unplowed road.

I put some dry gas in the snowblower, maybe it's moisture in the fuel line.

Hey Bonnie, I made some figgy pudding this year, plus I have a nice German Christmas stollen, so come on over for coffee.

We got about four inches here in S.E. Michigan.
We wern't supposed to get any but the weatherman was wrong again.
Sometimes after 65 years of snow I wonder what it would be like to have a sunny,75 degree Christmas.:D

Go out side in June and celebrate Christmas. That should be what it's like. :D

Hi Scottie!
The view were describing sounds absolutely breathtaking. It seems like you had it all. Beautiful mountains, a little snow, ocean waves, blue sky, shining sun.....sounds like a perfect day to me. I'm glad you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. My family and I enjoyed ours as well. Happy smiling kids, a good dinner, time with the my hubby and just being alive.

Take Care!
Gail

I think we got about...........

I think we got about...........

a foot of snow or more. It was enough to go skiing anyhow. I went yesterday afternoon and skied until about 7:30 last night with my daughter in law. What a blast. We just went to a local mountain, but it was fine for our first ski of the season.

How else can you burn off those Christmas calories??:D

We ended up with about 24 inches here. I've got a huge branch on the roof, and another in front of the house. Some of the side roads are a little dicey still.

Hi all.

Lincoln Nebraska reporting in with temps in the upper 40's and no moisture for several months. This is turning into the midwestern desert.

Normally it is sub-zero with strong winds this time a year. Must be associated with the football team not doing well this year.

Well the weather here (north San Francisco , bay area) is cold and rainy. It was so cold that on Dec 21, I went to a graveside service for a friend of mine. While there, my nose started to bleed but managed to stop it. For the rest of the day, it would start bleeding on and off. I went home and stayed in bed.

About 1am in the morning, I woke up with blood all over my pillow, my nose had started to bleed again. I decided to downstairs and lay on the sofa. The bleeding became pretty intense. When the clock hit 5am, I went to the bathroom and ended up on the floor with spasms and feeling myself go into shock. I was able to yell out for my wife and son who got me into the van and took me to the ER room.

After EKG?,s IV?s, blood test and who knows what else, I stabilized. The doctors think that the cold air cracked my membranes in my nose which caused the bleeding and combined with the warfarin, caused the extreme bleeding. The doctors said I lost 2-21/2 units of blood.

So folks, the weather is just great over in my part of the country. Anyway, Happy New Years to all..

Phil

Hi All!
It's been quite some time I've posted here!
Very rough year for me and my family.....
but ...weather!
Today, 12.30.02, it is 50 and a little breezy. No snow, in fact the ground has puddles, thawing I think!
Tomorrow, predict 35. No snow! Now that I'm fixed, no snow to shovel and show off!
