Toprol XL sexual or other side effects???

Any males out there have a sexual side effect while taking this Toprol XL?
Other side effects noted/experienced would be helpful also.

I had to be taken off of it as I have asthma and beta blockers are notorious for setting asthma attacks into play. Hope this helps you...Harrybaby

Speaking for the Husband He was started on Toprol XL after going off of amiodarone @ about 3 months post AVR. He tolerated both the amiodarone and Toprol with no side effects what so ever. However, after about 9 months his once enlarged heart had returned to a normal size, function etc and the original dose had to be cut in half as his BP started to bottom out, and he could tell as soon as it started to get low. Now I believe he is on Toprol XL 12.5 mg every day.

As with any beta blocker, it can have sexual side effects. Sadly, these are always listed as being "unimportant."

decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm

They can wreak havoc to your sex life, particularly for males, in desire, ability to start, and - unbelievably - ability to finish.

A ruined sex life is unimportant? What planet are these people from?
