Every so often I like to explain the ThrowDown so new members of Valvereplacement.org will understand what it is all about and to extend an open invitation to join our merry band of losers:smile2:

We started this weight loss forum several years ago on a challenge (I think between myself and SuperBob (co-founder)) ... I don't think anyone thought we would still be going ... there is only one rule that we insist on being adhered to and that is "we never are insulting or hurtful" ... you don't have to post your weight or what you have lost or gained ... although I think the accountability that I have here has helped me to maintain a loss of +/- 33 pounds for the last three years ... we recognize that the proper body weight is a big part of healthy hearts and healthy living ....

We joke and poke fun and encourage each other ... underneath the levity is a dead earnestness to be helpful and supportive ...

Anyone that would like to join is welcome ... need to lose two, ten or twenty pounds? ... we would love to have you join us!!!!

Do freshly baked chocolate chip cookies come with this offer, Mr. Chimp? :D:D

My sister sabotaged my diet today! She shipped me dark chocolate blueberry bark from this little chocolate shop in Erie.

Must.put.in.freezer.

Must.not.pig.out.

AGGGGGG!!! Can't resist!

Good luck to everyone. I've lost 25 pounds since my surgery eight weeks ago, 155 to 130. In sure quite a bit of that was fluid retention but I think at least ten pounds of it was list due to cutting my sodium. If you cut your sodium to 1500 mg a day it is extremely difficult to consume too much fat or calories. No fast food, no potato chips, less white bread, etc. Oh and I wanted to mention the livestrong website, you can share what you've consumed with other members. They also have an iPhone app to input your foods but they don't show the sodium on the app, but they do on the website.

I second the original post on welcome to one and all - especially if you are a gal! Michele? Wanna join the Gals team in the Great Pumpkin Race?? I concur this forum has helped me to stay on track, I've been up, I've been down, but in general the trend is down. Come on - don't be shy = we don't bite . Well maybe chimps bite....but not Cooker!
