I just now realized it is my third anniversary today, March 8th! 3 years ago today I had my Aortic and Mitral valve replaced and my tricuspid repaired!

Where did the time go? It went by so fast! I feel great! I can breathe! I'm not tired all the time! Life is great!

I found this wonderful site two months later, which I contribute very much to my healing process as well!

I also have gone on trips for the reunions, to places I'd never been! Not that I wanted OHS but I probably never would have gone to these places if I hadn't had valve surgery, or met all the wonderful people that are my heart buddies on this forum! You all are the greatest people I've ever met and/ or chatted with!

All I can say is: Wow! Life is great! And to RonK, no I'll never stop smiling!
:D :D

I'll celebrate too. 9 years ago today, my aneurysm ruptured and it didn't look like I'd be around anymore. Little did the world know that this was to be surprise number 1!

Congratulations Lorraine! Amazing isn't it? :)

CONGRATULATIONS, my friend :).

Yeah, I'll congratulate you even tho you won't be around for the Chicagoland gathering...tsk tsk tsk...LOL!!!

Actually...

*peers at calendar*

This year marks the 17th anniversary of my 2nd open heart surgery....March 1987.

My how time flies :).

Again, congrats Lorraine!

Congratulations, Lo-Rain, on three years! I understand and agree with and share all your sentiments, even though I'm eight months behind you.

Lorraine - We all owe you a toast -- next get together!

That's wonderful to hear from The Waiting Room, as you've set another example for looking forward to a life after valve surgery.

Lorraine,

Congratulations on three years. You sound so wonderful! May you be blessed with many more anniversaries.

I will join in on that toast in October. :)

Don't know how I missed your thread Lorraine! Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary! May you have many many more!

Congratulations Ross & Cort! And Thank You!

Two of my parters in crime!:D So we virtually all had a time when we went under the knife at the same time. Both of you have had more heart related surgies(not that I'm complaining, mind you:) )than I have, and have made it through them.

Yes, Ross it truly is amazing! Your 9th year anniversary of your aneurysm and you almost didn't make it! Of course at that time, you didn't know what would lie ahead. Thankfully we are all still here!

Cort: Sorry about the mini gathering. 17 year of second OHS! Wow! You too have had quite a few milestones!

Betty Thanks! I'm with you. I'll have that Miller Lite! :D Well on second thought............Haven't had a JD & Coke for a long time. Tee! Hee!

Thanks Nancy! All three of us I'm sure, are glad that we are around to be able to be typing posts on this great forum.

Jim- you are not that far behind and I know you can relate. We just have more reason to celebrate at the next reunion! Like we need a reason! lol!

Steve - It's truly delightful to know that myself as well as many other members who are post op, are a inspiration for those in our waiting room for life after valve surgery.

Steve & Christina L, we will have that toast as we all gather for our Denver reunion in October. And yes I do feel great!

Gina - Thank You very much. Cort, Perry and I will all have to celebrate at our next gathering as I noticed I missed his birthday as well. So Happy Belated Birthday , Perry! Oops! Wrong thread. I'll have to go over to the other one! See it isn't always hard to miss a post! :D

Thanks again everybody!

Me, too

Me, too

Sorry it took so long for me to get to this post. Lorraine, I've so enjoyed getting to know you; congrats on your 3rd anniversary. You've really done so well.

And Ross - I'm sure that 9 years ago you didn't really think you'd see 2004, huh?

Lorraine-

I missed this thread, as well. You're an inspiration!

Lorraine,

You are welcome :).

As for the mini-reunion....ah, well. I'm sure we'll have another mini-reunion sometime before October ;).

And, thank you :). Yes, I've had a few milestones...some good, some bad. But, all very important in the story of my life....

Hey Lorraine,
I don't know how I missed this thread also.:(
Congratulations on your 3rd Anniversary! I hope you have many more to come.
Looking forward seeing you and Carol again in Golden.

Ross and Cort, Congrats on your years also, and many more to come.
Take Care;)

Hi Lorraine,

Happy anniversary. Count me in as one who also did not see your post. Hmmmm... perhaps the St Patty's day leprechaun had something to do with that!

I hope you have many more, and that all your annual checkups continue to be positive!

Rob
