I don't understand why when I post the picture of Sara & Onyx... it gives the file name, as a link to download it, instead of posting the picture in the thread? What am I doing wrong?

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DAILY DIARY:

Day 183 of My Captivity:

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair, must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts....They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.

But I can wait, it is only a matter of time.

Cheers all,
Anna : )

Because you saved the picture as a bitmap instead of a jpeg. Me fix for you!

Saved as a bitmap makes it's bandwidth size rather large which this one comes out to 428 KB (438,272 bytes).

Saved as a JPEG, it is compressed many times and easy on bandwidth. The same image went from 428KB to 28.0 KB (28,672 bytes) Huge difference!

Dial up would take Roughly 100 seconds to download the bitmap and roughly 7 seconds as a JPEG.

Does this explaination help?

Anna, that cat diary is HYSTERICAL!
I am an avid cat lover and that cracked me up!
Thanks for the morning giggle!

Anna,

While I'd gladly confess to being a cat person (we have three cats at the moment), I must also admit to owning a 75 lb. German Shepard and an assortment of tropical fish.

I identify most closely with the cats. The cats completely intimidate the Shepard (who is a retired K-9 dog from Germany!) and tolerate us humans because we provide food and the occasional tickle under the throat.

Thanks for the dog and cat diaries :p

Tom,

All three of our cats breathe and nap, with the occasional snack. One of them will accompany the dog and I around the block on a walk, meowing loudly all the time, as if to say "you're going too far!"

Here is a picture of our daughter Heather and our family pet (Lady). Marvin and Lady are having quality time together these days. This pic was taken night before Marvins surgery at our daughters apt in indy where lady had to stay for awhile.
hope this pic is on here if not then you know I could not figure out how to do it.

Hi Betty,
Thank you. He is a great kid and loves his kitty. The kitty's nick name was Osama bin Kitty because he used to stalk me around the house and jump out and bite me. He has never bitten anyone else. I had to give him back to Charles when I went on Coumadin because of his nasty habit. You must pay attention to him at all times! But regardless of the biting, I loved him very much and still miss him ;(
Hope you are well.

Rain,

Beautiful poodle! We have something in common...and I've been trying to post a picture, but I'm on my Mom's computer and have not had any luck in getting the picture loaded. I have a 6yr old black standard named Abigail, but we call her Abby. She is 60lbs of pure joy (that's her in the avatar)! When I was on my computer at home I was able to just copy and paste pictures here, but for some reason I can't do it on my Mom's computer. And for you cat lovers, I had a solid gray cat (almost looked more silver than gray) with green eyes named Sylvia who let us live with her for 18 years.

:D

Here's my beautiful "Panda" who disappeared in June of 2002. He was just a kitty in this picture. I still miss him so much...:(
