Ross -

Things are ALL relative. I will tell you what my PCP told me about my echo last November - "There are a lot of people with worse heart problems that would kill for your echo results."

I think your heart is going to keep you going for a long time!

As for you being tired - hey, you don't sleep at night - hello!! :p

Glad that all is okay.

Ross,
I am happy that things look good on paper. Doesn't always help when you feel worse than the tests indicate. I often wonder why that seems to happen sometimes.
I hope you will start to feel better soon. Maybe the crummy weather we have had in Ohio recently is adding to your discomfort.
Take care.

Ross, I'm happy that things aren't worse. When we don't get the results we want, then I'm glad to get the one that says that things aren't terrible. Just keep plugging along, and we'll keep pestering you!:D :p ;) LINDA

Not too bad Ross, Ive ph as well ,they say from my bad valve..leftovers ..:p
tricuspid as well.. praying all works for us for a very long time..:p

hi ross,
things here could always be better, but they could also certainly be worse.
hopefully there won't be any/much change in your results for a long, long time..
this weather, as others have said, i'm sure, makes even the healthiest folks feel out of sync.
keep on with the laughs and the most wonderful attitude..
you know that we all love you!
stay well, sylvia

Hi Ross, Just read this....so glad to see those words....MILD and SOME.....

Sorry that Lyn is upset, but it is understandable, you never want to see anything new on a report, but again, at least it is mild, and may it stay that way!

Sorry that you still feel so lousy. Wish there were an answer to that.

Take care.

Just wanted to thank you for all you do for the valver community - what would we do without you!

Take care,
Liz

It doesn't look so bad, Ross. EF is 60. The LV enlargement isn't much over the line, and is at least concentric. A little damage to the LV function, likely from your last jaunt to surgery, but not too much. The LV size hasn't changed since the last echo. That's good news.

The tricuspid leakage is mild. Remind Lyn that mild regurgitation can be temporary. Mild can show in this echo and be gone in the next. The TV leaflets are thin and pliable, which means no calcification: that's very good, indeed. It means the valve itself isn't deemed to be damaged by the body.

Aside from the LV enlargement, I probably wouldn't expect your oxygen use and CHF from your echo results alone. This, of course, is why I always point out that I'm not a medical professional...

Very best wishes,

Wish You Felt Better

Wish You Felt Better

Dear Brother Ross, Sorry things didn't come out as we would've liked, but glad they're not worse! Put the wife on here to talk to us if it'll help. If it is any comfort, having you in my world has made me feel much better many times! You even got smiles out of me in this thread!:) I think we've all become quite Ross dependant!:D Brian

Ross
I am not that knowledged to say whether the results are good or bad,,,,I don't even know what CHF means, but I wanted you to know, that right now, a prayer is going your way. Tests are not that reliable or accurate many times, so maybe ask your doctor to repeat the test in 3 months and compare
Best of luck
Maka

I am so glad you are going to be around here for a long-time to come...

I too admit to being "Ross-dependant" :)

...sure its a bit of a worry when they find something new on a report to tell us about but those who know much more than I about this say its not so bad...

God Bless you Champ!

I am not sure what pulmonary hypertension is. I am just concerned about comments made by others about your lungs and kidney. What is wrong with your lungs and kidneys...I mean geesh, a person should only have to worry about one organ at a time!!

Your still with us

Your still with us

I hope your going to be with us for a long time to come. I am not surprised you are some time tyred as it doesn't matter what time of the day it is on the other side of the world you are there. If you never sleep any wonder you are tyred at times. I know some people will disagree with me but I think good sleep is something that needs to be worked on and is just as much of a habit as insomnia. :)

During my dissection, my kidneys went without blood too long and nearly didn't recover at all-Hit number one. During the second surgery, things didn't go right and again the kidneys were left with no blood supply for too long and a staph infection from an IV line to boot-Hit number 2. Now they just don't work like normal kidneys period. Google Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis for the lung issue.

Hey Ross - Not a really bad report. Sounds like you have a lot of sunrises and sunsets to look forward to, and a lot of forum members to hassle. Chris

Ross,

Just offering my best wishes and prayers for you and your wife for continued good news and strength to deal with whatever comes your way. You have certainly had more than your fair share from what I have read. Also from my lurking off and on, I see that you have been more than a big help to those in need here. For that a big Thank You for all you do!

God Bless!
Susie

Well I hope I am. The heart department seems to check out, but lungs........We won't even go there. Doc told me that I'm like in a race to see what fails first, heart, lung or kidneys. I hope he's wrong, but some days, I can feel it.

Dear Ross:

That is actually great news on the echo.....but you do have other things o be concerned about.

I wonder if the moderate amount of "damage" to your heart, combined with the lung and kidney issues (what a cascade of events), are what are making you feel so poorly. One problem in and of itself you might be able to tolerate, but all three could push you into the "really not well" category.

Wishing you well. - Marybeth
