Tests lie???????

Do tests lie or what? i'm going for my follow up on wednesday
and will ask for why this happened but,yet in another letter my findings state
in sept my cath and tee revealed my 1992 carbomedics aortic valve showed the gradient of 41-47 however this wasnot the intraoperative echo finding in which the gradient was 28-30 which compelled them not to replace the aortic valve.I pray it was 28-30 if any numbers account better here.

I go in wed for follow up and would definately like to know the drastic changes from tests to when they open up for ohs.and see differently.
They also saw some need to repair the tricuspid valve,but that changed also
once i was opened up on tests showed leakage,then not it was fine also.

Do alot of tests come up differently like this to lie or just mine????

We are leaving tuesday and will be gone entire week,so my appt is on wednesday,they also don't want me returning to work at all,so i will see why
not? Ive had a rough go of 2nd surgery and it is taking it's toll to get better
but times everything in this case.

Do i celebrate 17 years on tuesday march 24th\92 was my 1st surgery
that was a better surgery so yeah my hubby says we will, seeing as they didn't change it i still have it and it's been a great valve to us thus far even if
gradient 47 or 30 i'm stuck to celebrate as past years.

We'll be gone for the week but let you all know how appt.panned out.
when we get back,taking some time away from all this may help,it's been a challenging surgery for me 2nd time round.I applaud the 3rd and 4th and 5th ohs people,cus i willnot enjoy a third if ever happens to come my way.

There are so many variables that come into play. Technicians doing the testing, positioning of your body,etc. Don't go gettin all worked up about it. It's not worth it.

Deb, from what I understand, they removed a lot of scar tissue when they did your recent OHS, that may have been putting your heart out of alignment and affected how the whole thing was working. When they got rid of the scar tissue, and your heart resumed it's normal shape and position, your valves may all have popped back into better position. Think of it like bending and squeezing a garden hose to stop the water !


Anyway, a good "chat" with your surgeon on the follow-up visit should clear up some of your questions. Enjoy the vacation , and "see" you when you get back.

Still in edmonton,saw cardio and he's very seriou no more working
for me due to numerous reasons i will detail when i have more time.

Last minute here yesterday got a call on my cell in motel room surgeon away
on conference,my appt today cancelled for 3 pm with Dr.Modry.
My cardiologist not happy with the amiodarone 200mgs daily,will have to
be hospitalized to come off and need to be back here within month or so
to do this.Cant stop them just like that,these are causing me weight loss and
he will have few words with surgeon about this,i need an cho at 3 pm today,an ecg was done and i see cardio again after echo,he is to arrange for me to see my prior surgeon whom was injured and couldnot do my surgery,we have to do something with the amiordone and see when,that appt at 415
and so we are staying another night,also tremendous blood work done today.

so there we go .........lots of tests and told if i was returning to work i'd
need to find another cardio,if i didnot follow orders and is sending letter to my
Doc at home,today.

i'm abit stressed,but whats new.........haha.
Think we will be here yet till tomorrow,less somethings getting done with the amiordone.

Dear Lilteach,
Could you explain to me about your echo's did not show what was going on inside of you. The last 2 echos that I have had are different. It is confusing to me. They are only 6 months apart.
