In that I have a St Jude mech valve and a dacron aorta, this is great to hear. Thanks for sharing!

Question, if you don't mind. I read a study on the loosening of the dacron fibers over time, resulting in a larger diameter for the aorta. Do you know if they track this in your echos and have you seen any indication of this?

I'm sure they do, I get frequent echos, and they see everything. 35 years, and one poster in here was at his 50 something anniversary.

Hey , between those two studies linked above I think you'll get the idea that its not so bad. Also since (at least the study I linked to) these data are now reported I'd anticipate that's fed back into the manufacturing.
