Ten years ago yesterday, I had my aortic valve replaced with a tissue valve. It's hardly a blip on my radar anymore and still going strong. Very thankful because since then I've celebrated many life events like a grandson. Thank God.

My tissue valve dates from May, 2005 -- 17+ years! It is still going strong, as are our two very energetic grandsons!

I don't have a lot of insight on tissue valves, but just recently, two friends have had them installed. One had a pig valve, and one had a bovine. What impresses me about your valve is how long it has lasted for you .

I have been impressed and pleased since the day of my surgery in May 2005. Also, I was fortunate to have had an outstanding surgeon who was very experienced with my condition and with valve replacement procedures. He provided excellent guidance before and after the surgery.
