Thanks, John. I think I will look that up. I just really hope rehab does the trick and I don't have to have the pericardiectomy. Doesn't sound like my idea of fun... But then again, I could say my heart has done a strip tease ;) .

Thanks, Nancy!

Thanks, Nancy!

Nancy,

Thanks for the info. I have noted the test name and use. If you remember, my family doctor insisted on treating my initial episode as an asthma flare up until I insisted my valve had blown or whatever...I'm so glad I knew about the valve and symptoms to watch for. By that time I was in chf...the cardiologist almost put me in the hospital. It certainly reinforced my belief that we have to be aware of our conditions and the ramifications and treatments. Be our own advocates.

I always appreciate the documentation you find for us.

Niki, this is probably the only time all the guys here would NOT chant, "Take it off, take it all off!"

Your sense of humor is a wonderful asset. With all you've been through, you always seem to find the light side and put smiles on our faces.

You hang in there, you are an example for all of us!

P.S. I did a little searching myself, and found that people can do just fine without a pericardium (hope it doesn't come to that, but it's good to know). In the mean time, I think I'll work on a Country Western song for you, titled "My Naked Achin' Heart." ;-)

Gotta keep you people on your toes!

Niki, it was meant as a joke in case you took it another way.
My bad.

John do we have any eligible candidates for the catchers vest yet?

ROFLMAO!!!!:D :D :D :D

You guys crack me up! I needed that. I'm wiping away the tears of laughter as I type this... :D

My hubby is the one who always helps me to see the lighter side. If not for him, I don't know what I'd do. He's always coming up with things like the heart strip tease, and when they removed the external pacer wires he said I would be able to tell people with authority what it feels like for someone to "tug on your heartstrings." Gotta love my man's sense of humor!

And Ross, never worry about me taking that kind of thing seriously. Living with my husband has taught me well how to put up with your "shenanigans." ;)

Thanks for the laughter. It's helpful in this time of stress. And John, I'll be anxiously awaiting those song lyrics. ;)
