After spending weeks changing my mind like I change my pants, between the Ross procedure and going with a tissue valve, I finally made a decesion. Dr. Girardi will replace my BAV with a bovine valve on January 21st. I was leaning for a while to go with Dr. Stelzer and the Ross, but I was always hesitant and was never 100% it. While I do think Dr. Stelzer is a great guy after meeting him and would recommend him if someone was considering the Ross, I felt for me right now to go with Dr. Girardi was the best way to go. So now I count down the days, but I am suprisingly ok with everything, it fells like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders after I booked the date. I will be browsing through the PostSurgery forum for some tips and just trying to get everything set.

Nick,
I know you're relieved to have made the decision so all you need to do now is to relax and enjoy the days before surgery. I've put your date on the calendar, so you're official!;):)

Nick, I know what you mean by having a sense of peace. I want to wish you a successful surgery and easy recovery now as I will just be coming home the day you are going in.

All the best,

It is a relief to get the choice of valve made and date set. Wishing you the very best. We're here to help calm nerves if you have a bout or two of them. Most of us do.

NIck,

Glad to hear you picked your date and valve. I agree it was a big relief when I finally decided as well. I'll be having surgery two days after you.
As the others who have gone before us say...soon we'll be on the other side of the mountain.

All the best Nick! Sending positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes for a successful surgery and smooth recovery. I am sure it is a relief to have made a decision.
