Abbanabba

Well down here in sunny Australia, we just had our 7th day of 105+ weather (..today was 113..), and because of all storms up north, the humidity felt about 180%...!!!!! We got just enough rain to make things really sticky, but not nearly enough to cool things down (..at all!!..).

If anyone would like to trade places, I can have my suitcase packed in about 5.74 seconds! :D

We tied a record!

We tied a record!

On Feb. 10th we tied the record high for that day set back in 1926 - it was 45 degrees here!

today it was 24 degrees when I drove to work. Still not bad for February in Alaska.

I used to live in Wisconsin and I hate the windchill, and humidity makes it feel colder and penetrate every coat in the closet.

I'd still rather be in Arizona! Can't wait for spring break in March - we are heading to Tucson.

Abba,

Have you ever been to New Zealand? Can you escape the heat by just taking a flight over?

I've read that it is temperate and lush with vegetation. But hey, you may be way over on the other side of Australia.

KEEP COOL:cool:

HACK-HACK-HACK That's EXACTLY HACK-HACK-HACK what I HACK-HACK-HACK need right HACK-HACK now!!!

I think I picked up some kind of cold cough thing within the last day and I've been coughing incessantly for the last 36 hours save for when I'm asleep (thankfully, I can do that) and if I lay very still in bed, breath shallow and don't speak.

Otherwise, I'm coughing all the time...

It really sucks because I'm starting to feel like I did last year before I had my valve surgery....

=(

Cough drops are helping though and the cough is dry which isn't what the CHF cough was like, even though the intensity is the same.

Tell you what, we can "time share." You can move in with my dad for a few weeks of snow and ice and my wife and I will watch your house and work on our tans...
=)

Hell, you can even help my dad shovel the snow from the driveway in the mornings, that will cure your "summer time blues" in less than five minutes! =)

Harpoon-
Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad at the moment - I know what those incessant coughing spells are like. Meanwhile, I think I'd love to come shovel snow about now (..oh to have the energy!!..)..... but I don't know how you'd go on your tan since we have total cloud cover at the moment (..yet it is still 101 (..hell, it's cooled down!!..)..) - oh, and then there's that little problem with the lack of ozone layer :(

mamsram-
Would love to get over to New Zealand - especially after seeing The Lord of the Rings trilogy (..and what a great job they did..). Unfortunately I am on the other side of the country, so I guess I'll just have to put up with this awful oppressive heat - bleargh!!! I got away down south to the coast over the weekend, so at least I got a few days break. :)

105!
Omygod!
It's 22 here right now in Racine Wisconsin, I'll take that, it's the BELOW ZERO stuff that gets me.

My son has lived in mid-Florida all of his life. His wife is from Philly. They traveled to Philly at the end of January and he said "Mom, how do they stand it - how do they live in that cold". I had to say "I don't know". Bless you all.......
