When we were living in Northern Virginia for a few years, all the families in our cul-de-sac (which was atop a hill) got together, and we pooled our candy on several tables out in the street, lit some lanterns, fired up a big grill and had a cookout with burgers and beer while handing out goodies to the kiddies who ventured up the hill. We had as much fun as the kids. Now that we live out in the boonies, it's pretty here, but Halloween is quiet (probably would be scary if anyone did show up out here in the wilderness -- probably would be a bear.:D

Recently, I've been travelling, in the Big Apple and on the road at a convention. My computer (the desktop) also died so yesterday I went out and bought a new one at Best Buy and spent the rest of the day trying to get it up and running. It's been busy for me lately and I haven't been posting as much as I would like.

I enjoy holidays like Halloween. We have fancy new LED orange lights in the window and two pumpkin candlesticks.:)

For us, my children who are grown and married come and decorate our yard and house like a graveyard, then they dress up and scare the kids as they come to get the candy. Unfortunately, this year hubby and I won't be there to see the fun. Going to Oklahoma to see football game. GO BOOMER SOONERS!!!:D

Oh, Dina, I may have to refrain the candy corn!

I'm a wimp when it comes to horror flicks; never could enjoy fear:eek:;) Actually, horror movies with birds, such as "The Birds," left me scarred for life. I still have a fear with birds. Weird, I know. Then again, I love to watch birds talk, but on TV.

Maybe I can officially change my favorite Halloween candy to M&Ms? If there's an "Psycho" of M&M fame, I've missed that one.;)

Superbob, and you thought you were babbling. ;)
I don't want to be responsible for scaring you away from your favorite candy.
Plus I think M&Ms have more calories.
I agree -The Birds was scary. But what scarred me for life was The Exorcist.
My mother should have never let me see it,but she didn't know how bad it was. I spent most of the movie with someones hands over my face:rolleyes:
(I must have been about 8 or 9) Problem was I could still hear all of those scary demonic voices. I ended up sleeping with Mom and Dad for about a
week after that one,I'm sure they were really thrilled about that;)
Of course I had no idea that I might have been an inconvenience, yep I
have always been a little naive:eek:

I found that cartoon...."Its the Great Pumpkin,Charlie Brown".
In this one I play the part of the kid with too many eyes in his ghost.

This joint has been unusually quiet this week.

Worn down by the relentless election campaign and all the nasty ads? (I live in battleground Virginia, so we are getting more than our fair share.)

Or just worn down by our last sex thread? :p

Or maybe with the cold weather moving in, we need a new sex thread.

Out shopping for Halloween candy or costumes? Any of our ladies going to dress up like naughty nurses? (Or maybe Sarah Palin/Tina Fey? :p -- if so, let Superbob know so he can put you on his flight schedule. ;)

I know some of our regulars have been distracted by hardships -- I know our hearts go out to them.

Anyway, Superbob may have to put a spicier avatar up in an attempt to liven things up. :D

Worse for wear tonight, I see Als waiting for answers on some posts
I'm of no help Al (sorry)

No problem Dina; I love M&Ms also (I do have some of the small bags that count as 2 WW points :)).

OK, what about Jaws? Did that one get to you? I shouldn't admit it but it scared me and I, unintentionally, hit my cousin in the belly when I through my arms out in reaction to the head rolling out of the boat under the water (that may be ALMOST correct?). I did not think it safe to go back into the water for a while!
