Flora
Been raking our yard for a couple of weeks. Our spring ephemerals are showing. The bloodroot has just finished flowering, the snowdrops and scilla are in bloom, crocuses blooming, some trillium are budding, trout Lillies are poking out, the Chinese snow poppy is leafing out, lots of hosta buds, ligularia, daylillies and iris, both wild and domestic all have large shoots. My beautiful hollyhock is showing shoots, Joe Pye weed is stil sleeping. I think I'll have to move him, he's way too big for the area he's in. The pink lily-of-the-valley and the white lily-of-the-valley will start showing pretty soon, along with the Jack-in-the-pulpits and green dragons.
You should see my seedlings in the cellar. Tomatoes are up, some of them at least 6 inches, and growing about 1/4" a day. Lots of great stuff down there, cleome, geraniums, pansies, coleus (just love those guys, so colorful, fun to grow), petunias, and lots more. They want outta there into the sunshine, but it's still too cold. Have to stay under lights until late May.
