May Mini-Reunion in Balmy Batavia

It would be a pleasure to have you over for a Saturday ( or more if you wish ) of canoeing, prairie trail hiking ( not to mention pool ) and the famous whirlwind tour of the Lab on the Fermilab site 50 miles west of Chicago.

The canoes and life jackets are available from the Laboratory recreation office as is a guide to the prairie restoration project at Fermilab and a description of the hiking trails on the 10 square mile Fermilab site. I will post links soon.

The lab is very pleasant in May -- around 60-70 degrees at midday. I will try to start a poll of dates. I will be posting on this thread until I get a response from every one of you within range.

Please e-mail me if you have any questions: burair.kothari at gmail dot com.

Looking forward to seeing you,
Burair

Brought to you this week by the letter M; for Mary, her brand new niece Madeline and for Raverlaw's Million Meters rowed ( appropriately one of the stetches of water we can canoe on in the Fermilab Village is Lake Law... )

Interesting to see that someone else's mind goes a mile a minute at 3AM. :)
Looking forward to seeing everyone again as well as new folks. Get that pool stick chalked. :D
Hope you are doing well. Give my love to Ammina and hugs to Ishaq.
Smiles, :)
Gina

BURHAIR, Gotta love him!

I'm going to look at the dates you posted and compare them with any conflicts here.
I'm also awaiting a response from Dr. Stelzer about the echo he was going to review this week. It's possible a surgery date will impact my choice, but we'll see.

Burair is feeling well :)

May is perfect. Nothing on the books at this point. Greatly looking forward to meeting yourself and family.

Thank you for the invitation.

The only bad weekend for me is the 1st date. We'll be retrieving our daughter from college.

I highly encourage any and all within range to come. Burair is Host Extroardinaire and from what we saw in the cold of Fall, I imagine Fermilab will be lovely in May. They have a bison herd!

Trust me Ross, you don't want to see this "old girl" in a bikini. However, you might talk me into bringing 25 year old pictures of me in a bikini.
Smiles, :)
Gina

Hey, if it will get you there Ross, we'll put on bikinis. Ever heard the phrase "Be careful what you ask for, for you just might receive it." ?

(Now I didn't say 'how' we'd wear the bikinis. ;) )

Karlynn,
Ross said he would go if all the women wear bikinis. It seems to me that Ross will have to show up first before any bikini wearing is done.

Question is: How bad do you want it Ross?

Bikini's???

Bikini's???

As long as it's not the first Saturday in May (Derby weekend) I'll be available.
As for a bikini, I could wear one but I'm not sure anyone would WANT to see me in one! I like Karlynn's idea about WHERE we wear them.
And Ross, are we going to see you in a speedo??? LOL

Grrr....

May is going to be very interesting. Between getting ready for my sister's wedding and getting the "baby girls" ready for the summer season, I'm not sure how much time I'll have....

I voted for May 14 or May 15.... Looks like that's my only "open" weekend. May 7-8 is Mom's Day weekend; May 21-22 I'll have the church newsletter to do; May 29 is a certain aforementioned wedding.

*sighs*

And, after the day I've had....why can't life be simple and easy again?

Lol. Had to laugh at this one. I have been known to wear bikinis and if it would get Ross there i'd do it.. If the rest of the winter/spring months keep up this stressful and aggravating I may not even want to see myself in a bikini anymore but whatever it takes Ross-man!

Hi Burair,

With this much advance notice, should be a piece of cake, right? Well, we aren't allowed to know all for the future, but I'm with Cort -- the 14th is best for me.

I'll do my darndest to keep that date open. Later in the month we, too, have to bring daughter back from college.

Hi Burair,

May 14 would work for me as long as it's during the day. Our last day of finals (I'm the exam co-ordinator) is over May 12th. On May 15th I have to assist in graduation. I'm in charge of getting our Alumni students organized so they can hood their perspective graduates from their family. So I couldn't make it a late night. Sounds like fun.

Ross, now I don't know about a bikini, but if it will get you there, well maybe I might consider. Need to do a lot of dieting though between now and May to do that though! lol! :D

I'll be there no matter what. And, Ross, I'll show up in a bikini   if it means getting you there. Looking forward to it...

Lend me your clicks and set your pacemakers on fun we are a month closer to the
Spring Fling at Fermilab
Bring yourself and your family for a Merry May Saturday of canoeing, hiking, sightseeing ( and pool ) on the ten square mile Fermilab site.

We seem to be converging on the May 14 date which looks good, hope to see you all here then...

Sounds good to me!!!!!

BTW, don't know if any of you other Chicagolanders noticed in my "get your motor runnin' post" about the Spaghetti Dinner at the church I attend in Batavia IL (613 N Van Buren St)...it's THIS Saturday night, February 19, 4:30p-7:30p.... Just some, uh, "food for thought" ;).

Is this "Spring Bash" for vr.comers only? Just wanting to check...because some at achaheart.org are looking to get together, too....

*shrugs*
