A friend of ours who has a cabin in the Cloudcroft Ski area, sent us these photos of their cabin & the surrounding area of the snow storm that pushed in here last night. He said they got a whopping 28"! The elevation there is about 8200' & simply beautiful!

Very pretty, yes indeed. The first big snow fall is always nice and soon we will have the same thing plus more I'm sure, sorry to say...I'm not looking forward to it.

But still a very nice picture.

Yes, it is beautiful indeed!

If only snow were contained to photos only. I've had enough snow in my life; I'd like to share with those less fortunate for the rest of my life! ;)

Thanks Freddie!

Snow in our part of the country is a very rare occurrence to say the least. We had some come down but it was all melted before noon. Needless to say, this little bit of snow prompted officials to close down some schools, city & county offices & some major roadways. I can't even begin to tell you how many fender benders there were all over town! :p

Our city has only closed down twice - I mean completely shut down due to snow fall in the past 25 years. Mind you we're talking about a snow fall of 4 feet along with a strong wind. When driving you couldn't see 3 feet in front of you.

Took us 2 days with 2 people to shovel out the driveway. The snow drifts were 4 feet high or better - not fun.

And here I was complaining about the teeny ONE INCH of scattered snow that we got on Monday, Nov. 30th
We were hoping to have a snow-less November....But now that it's December, bring on the snow for Christmas please. :)

We also had snow on the Florida mountains in Deming and the bootheel had some. We had a some hail and sleet on the flat here. We had several days of rain and it has seemed cold although to the northern states and Canada, what we have is a heat wave, probably.
I am glad that it stopped raining though as out construction crews can't work in that and don't have enough inside work going on right now that could have mud tracked.
I am a rain and snow fan. A little and then I am tired of it. That is why I live in the southwest.
Did Las Cruces get any hail?
El Paso got a few inches.
The sun was out pretty this afternoon but the breeze ruined it. I think all the nice days we had before Thanksgiving spoiled me.

Beautiful pic Norma. I heard some places got 28 inches. That's a lot of snow! I do like the snow but I do not like to drive in it. It is pretty to look at.

Freddie: I can not imagine 4 feet of snow:eek: That would shut us down for awhile. I don't like the snow that much.

I think we're in for another wave Missy. El Paso got it worse than we did. The Organ Mtns. sure do look gorgeous though.

How'd you like the fog this morning?

Beautiful Norma,

I remember snow very well, when I lived in Conn years ago, my mothers home state!

I guess I'm just a big kid at heart or maybe because it is so rare to see snow where I live, but I got such a high from seeing the little bit of snow!

But I can also see where some of our friends in the mid-west or eastern part of the states can become tired of it too.
