Saw cardiologist

I saw my cardiologist today for the results of my annual echo which I had last week. Nothing much has changed, my peak gradient is 55 mmHG, mean gradient 35 mmHg effective orifice area of the valve is 0.72, left ventricular ejection fraction 65% - the valve looks okay. So I go back in another year unless I get symptoms

I had my second dose of vaccine (Pfizer) this morning Seaton ! It’s eight weeks since my first one so I was pleasantly surprised when I got the text yesterday, especially after all the problems described in the press these past few days with getting more doses of vaccines from wherever they are manufactured. Hope you get your second one soon Seaton, and everyone else too.

I’m glad to say my cardiologist doesn’t look like that Pellicle - could be the cardiac surgeon who did my AVR ?

Hi stranger , glad you are doing ok, and good that you are cleared for another year.
I should have had my annual check in March,but up to date, no appointment has come through, so i phoned them and apparently they are starting face to face consults this week, but they are 12 months behind due to the Lock down

Chiming in late as just saw this, but that is great news. Hope things can continue to stay stable for you for awhile!

Thanks @maisiejane and @ottagal Yes it's good that all's stable - high pressure gradients, small effective orifice area, but all okay. Shows that once you've had AVR they have to look at echos in a different way from when it's a native valve.
