I'm not on the boards much over the weekends, so I just "heard." Our prayers are with you and daddy. It is never easy, that much we know. My own father passed away almost 18 years ago, and hardly a day goes by when I don't think of him, how he would do something, or just "talk with him." Our parents do live in our hearts forever.

I am very sorry to hear about your father. It is never easy, no matter how long our parents live. My parents passed on much too young, but I would never have been ready for their deaths, no matter how old they were.
Your daddy is in a grand place now - young again and reunited with loved ones. He is at peace with God.

I am SO sorry. Please accept my belated condolences. I have been under the weather. Please don't take this wrong and I hope I don't offend, but I think your daddy just didn't want to adjust to a new place. I think he wanted to go home, if that is any comfort at all. I do know one thing, too. You are very, very loved. Just look at the number of responses on here. Please feel our arms gently embracing you, giving you strength, comfort, and a shoulder to cry on. You have my love and my prayers always. Janet

For all of your posts...I just returned home....and came to VR.Com..knowing I would have many words of comfort....On Oct. 4th..when I arrived at Daddy's..for my visit ( tried to go every 2-3 months)he had just pushed-mowed his grass for 3 hours..We (Hubby and I) noticed during our 3 day stay..he was not the same ...Just not the Daddy that would follow my Hubby like a puppy-dog..watching him do outside chores..ect..Returned home..and 4 days later..I called my brother to go over and check on him..Brother took him to ER..my sister and I drove all night to get down to him..We stayed for 8 days 24 hours with him in hospital...and 3 days in Nursing home..All the time..he was up-beat..just wanting to get better and go home..Sister and I came back home..Brother visited everyday for 5 days..and said..Daddy just wanted to sleep. On Friday ( October 28th) he asked my brother for a coke..Brother left for a few minutes and Daddy went to sleep and never woke up...3 days before..he turned age 91..and we sent balloons, cards, ect..Staff said he was so excited..could even tell them the names of great- grandchildren.............All of his 6 Grandchildren came and all of his great- grandchildren came for his funeral.They all loved their PaPa.........For Cort..Oct. 28th was my daughter's birthday..and 4 years ago, her beloved Grandmother was buried on her birthday..Real hard on her..being their only Granddaughter....For Janet..yes..I think he knew he would never go to his beloved home again....and just wanted to go and be with Mama.............We hated to lose him..but feel comfort knowing that he was never sick in his 91 years..and never in Pain.......again, thanks to everyone who posted.....and to Christina W. in Az. for the Beautiful card you sent to John and I...Bonnie
