Just got home a little bit ago. Full of gas of course. The Doc found a polyp and removed it even though I'm anticoagulated at 2.5 INR right now. No bleeding to speak of. Polyp didn't look cancerous, but it's off to pathology anyhow for their ruling. I'll know in 7 to 10 days. No major bleeder found in the colon, so it has to have originated in my stomach.

Chris is on his way down to surgery as I type this, so I don't know how he's going to do.

Glenn has had two colonoscopies. I went with him to the first one and after he was out of the scope room he was in a little room to wake up from the drugs. They knocked him out totally. I walked into the room. The nurse was fiddling with his IV and making notes on his chart. He was still out like a light, but he had a huge grin on his face. I said to the nurse "Boy, I'm not sure what they did to him in there, but I think he must have liked it!" She had to leave the room in order to burst out laughing.

Moral of this story - don't expect sympathy from your wife if you're smiling after a colonoscopy.

They gave me sedation, but not enough to put me out. I was with the party the whole time. He said he couldn't give me more because of my O2 level and wanted me to breath for some reason.

I had exactly what I said I did not want, McDonalds. But hey, even it tastes good after 30 hours with no solid food. Big Mac, Fillet O Fish and fries.

Was it a pretty small polyp? Maybe he figured that it would be small enough to not cause much bleeding.

This may sound painful, but do they ever cauterize after snipping a polyp? I had a mole removed from my face several years ago (obviously not the same part of the body we're talking about with you - although after a hard day it may look the same. ) and when the doctor read I was on Coumadin, he just said "I'll just zap it a little before I put the stitch in to keep it from bleeding."

Actually it was a pretty good sized puppy. I would have to think, after seeing what was there afterwards, that it was looped and cauterized all in one snip. It looked bloody, but no bleeding has been seen to speak of.

Beleive it or not, they are clear. Some things inside me are actually usable. Not many, but some.

Are you on any cholesterol lowering meds? I was on Zocor, which didn't work too well, not on Vytorin...

So far, no. Thank God. I take enough other stuff that I don't need anymore pills to take.
