Just your actions Ross are freaky. They were Cool, but still freaked me out..........until I knew what you were doing.........then it was really cool.

But lets not make it a habit okay?

Don't make mistakes that I have to help you with and I won't. :D

I'm gonna try it on my laptop tonight and see if Ross has been messing around with that one, too.

Sure those weren't Ross' cat's hairballs in the sandbox? I almost stepped on a hairball last night . None of my cats has owned up to the hairball -- or the cat poop in Ross' sandbox.................

What the heck was I suppose to think? All of a sudden my arrow starts moving on its own. I thought you were just going to look Ross, not take over my control of my own arrow :)
That's what freaked me out.....Plus, I was barely awake LOL

Definition of remote assistance:

Windows Remote Assistance is a feature of Windows XP and later that allows a user to temporarily control a remote Windows computer over a network or the Internet to resolve issues.[1][2] As it can be inconvenient for system administrators to personally visit the affected computer, Remote Assistance allows them to diagnose and often repair problems with a computer without ever personally visiting it.

In Windows Vista, Remote Assistance is a full-fledged standalone application and does not use the Help and Support Center or Windows Messenger. It is based on the Windows Desktop Sharing API. Two administrators can connect to a remote computer simultaneously. Also, a session automatically reconnects after restarting the computer. It also supports session pausing, built-in diagnostics, chat and file transfer and XML-based logging. It has been reworked to use less bandwidth for low-speed connections. NAT traversals are also supported, so a session can be established even if the user is behind a NAT device. Remote Assistance is configurable using Group Policy and supports command-line switches so that custom shortcuts can be deployed.

I do not use Microsofts programs for remote. I use Teamviewer. Faster and in my opinion, better. Free for personal use to. www.teamviewer.com

And no, remote assisting is not placing a trojan on your system. It is what it is. I will help anyone that wants it or needs it. I can't understand why some of you will trust your computer to Geek Squad, pay to have something fixed, then get it back and it still doesn't work when I could have done it for you and for free or whatever it's worth to you. If you feel like throwing me a bone, I'd gladly accept it.

Ross, didn't know you were a computer expert? Could have used your help couple weeks back.

My 8 year old Dell desktop got real sick with a blue screen of death, showing error 55. I couldn't do a thing after BIOS completed loading. Couldn't access F8. All the hard drive would do is click. Tried to do a Windows repair but got message that C drive wasn't available.

After during searches for error 55 at Dell and on the web found some diagnostic downloads and went to checking...discovered the HD had a "SMART" error... so I ordered a new, $37. HD. Hadn't had time to install it for we have company. So wish me luck on doing the install for it will be my first HD install.

But we've been online for 12 years and never paid anyone to fix our computers. Been able to keep em all running with what help I can find online.

We've also managed over the past several years to find friends who have helped us out with computer crashes. But last year when my unprotected Dell had a wicked Trojan/virus, I had to call in a pro techie dude. The techie was most impressed with the sophistication of the virus in my machine. They like that kind of stuff. (!)
Of course, Ross is my first choice, and I wouldn't hesitate to call for a remote session.

It's not that big of a deal. If you have a 40 pin ribbon, see if you can't pick up and 80 and replace it. That will give you a little faster data rate on the drive. Oh yeah, be sure you have your OS installation cd too! Wouldn't have been able to help with remote on this deal. That's one of those hands on projects.
