I think we are over the BE scare for now. We are about 90% sure that Katie just had a stomach bug as Don and I both managed to come down with it Monday and Tuesday........I'm so glad that Katie has finally learned to share.........argh! The good news is that Trip has managed to avoid it (can't have him missing final exams) and Katie seems to be back to her old self, full of pee and vinegar!

A dear friend suggested that we have a culture taken at our next INR draw (which should be next week - yes, her PC still insists on bimonthly draws even though we hometest) just to doublecheck. I thought that was a great idea. You know my motto: Peace of mind for my piece of mind anyday! ;)

Tomorrow is the last day for my students so I hope to regain some sanity here soon and be around a bit more often. Ha! With Katie, who am I kidding? :D I may be around more, but the sanity ain't gonna happen! Below is the pic showing all that stainless we got last year and her two missing front teeth - yes, two, you will have to check her page for that story!

Much love. J.

Oops! Meant to get this one in, too.

This one innocent. Hugs. J.
(Hmmm........why didn't that last one thumbnail? I hate being technologically challenged. )

Last one - promise!

Last one - promise!

For now, anyway. This one not so innocent, but more true to form Katie. Pink panties, blue "belt," red cowboy hat, purse, your horse - what more could a girl want? :D BTW, the mess is all hers, too! Hugs. J.

Thanks for the pictures, Janet and glad to hear you are all on the mend. Katie is as always her adorable self. Enjoy the summer break!

The last one was saved as a bitmap and this one as a jpg. I converted the other and reposted it for ya.

I had to print these out for my fridge!

Janet:

What cute photos!!!!!!

BTW, a neighbor (don't remember her name right now) is a cardiac nurse at Cook Children's. (Don't know if Katie had ever been through there.) I told the neighbor's husband about this website and Katie -- should have related y'all's trip to Galveston shortly before her last surgery, but thought better of "baring" all. :D :D :D

Oh my gosh - she is growing up so very fast. Love seeing her again. Thanks for the photos.

JANET!

So good to see you posting, my dear. And, of course, thanks for the update on Katie ... can always count on some humor in your updates ;).

Hope all is well........

Awww, shucks!

Awww, shucks!

Thank y'all so much for the kind words. Katie is growing like a little weed. You know, prior to her fontan and valve replacement, her oxygen sats were 77-83 on a good day. Since her sats have been running 96-99 for almost two years now, (has it really almost been two years?) she has really sprouted up. Amazing what a little oxygen can do for one's body! ;)

And, Ross, thanks so much for doing that for me. I swear I don't remember biting a map, but since Don took my Kodak Easyshare away, I can't do diddly squat with these digital pics. I used to be able to crop (mainly to cut out all of the crap in the background :D ) and resize, etc. Now I'm lucky if I can even get them downloaded. Glad you got a chuckle out of them. Will have to send you some more "artwork" soon.

Marsha, do you know if she works in the hospital cardiac clinic or the hospital proper? We still have all of Katie's routine checkups, etc. at the cardiac clinic. Dr. Roten is Katie's PC and Dr. R's nurse is Mary Beth. What a small world. And even if she works with peds, it still doesn't hurt to have a cardiac nurse there in the neighborhood.;) Katie did spend 55 days in Cooks when she was an infant - two weeks in NICU and the rest of the time in the ICU, cardiac section, but that was almost six and a half years ago, so I doubt if she would remember us if she even worked there then. And yep, thanks for not baring our soul there. Katie does enough baring all on her own. :D Besides, what happens in Galveston stays in Galveston.......well, at least if you don't have a mom who goes blabbing it all. :D

Much love to you all. Many hugs. J.
P.S. Graduation tomorrow night and then FREEDOM - I always think of Mel Gibson in Braveheart on that one, but I think I will skip the disemboweling, thank you.;)

Janet go get a copy of Irfanview. You can do just about anything with it including converting bmp to jpg or just about any other format as well.

www.irfanview.com It's free, It's great. The poor mans photo editing program.
