Wise - very important: make sure the Power of Attorney is a DURABLE POWER OF ATTORNEY. I have one on my bro and some places won't take it because it's not a DURABLE POA (Social Security won't even accept a change of address - nor will his stock co). All I want to do is get his mail sent here, pay any bills due, answer any mail that needs a reply, because he's no longer at the other place. They won't do it, even tho he has dementia and can't take care of his bills and mail. Social Security wants a letter from a doctor stating he's mentally unable to take care of his affairs; the stock co wants a Durable with his fingerprints at the signature line. How in the world can he consent if he is demented!!!! So take heed and be sure it's durable poa. We have attorneys on this board and they will perhaps stop in and talk about the differences.
Good to know your aunt is responding well just now.
