This came from the wife of a member of our local zipper club (we gather every four months to break bread) he was having his ICD changed out for a three lead unit

Just to let you know that xxxxxis fine. His surgery took 5 hours. The 3 surgeons could not insert the 3rd lead to the left side of his heart, which means he will still be as weak as before. The other option is to have open heart surgery, but xxxx is against this because it's too risky. xxxxx will be home on Tuesday and will fill you in about his surgery.

Then today

Good morning xxxxxx, it xxxx's wife, last night xxxxx took a turn for > the worst. He couldn't breath lat night and I had to call EMS> and they took him to St. Michael's Hospital. He's been admitted to the > CCU. The medical staff of course are not sure what happened except I > his heart was beating about 165 beats a minute when ems arrived. I was > asleep when his breathing almost stopped. He was reading on the couch > and he tried calling me about a 1/2 dozen times. I heard him finally > at his last attempt. By the time I heard he was barely breathing. Not > much more to tell you except I'm so exhausted.
