Hello
I wanted to let everyone know that Nathan's Dad, "Grandpa Bob" died one week ago today. He was the most amazing person I have ever met. When I first met him in 1987, ( Nathan and I were still dating in high school )I knew he had a heart problem. When I was in nursing school, Bob received his heart transplant at I believe 47 years old in 1990. I had my soon to be mother-in-law speak to my nursing class about becoming a heart donor
In those 17 years following transplant, he became Grandpa six more times
He also battled pancreatic cancer in the early 2001 and won! He and Nathan shared a passion of living to the fullest, and I believe they have passed this love of life on to our children. We never take one day for granted. We do have regets, but it is not because we have not at least tried
At my father's funeral 1996, he became my spiritual father---thank you.
