Had my follow-up with Dr. Smith today and again he was quite pleased with my progress. So much in fact that he told me that I would be fit to go back to work on 9/24 and be on a plane on 9/26
I know what everyone is thinking --- work isn't as important as my health and I totally agree.
Dr. Smith is on the conservative side for the most part. If he didn't feel I was capable of either, he would have given a big "No". As it is, the timing of the surgery was such that if I could make this trip, I would go - it's not a big deal if I don't. My follow-up with the Cardiologist isn't until 10/2 and some would say stay out from work until then. Lucky for me I don't have a very physically demanding job and if I get tired at work, I can lie down on the cot in my office or just go home.
I just wanted to pass on to everyone that I will be back at work 3-weeks post-op and I haven't felt this good in quite a long time
Of course, I won't be on the course until early December, but that's about when the temperature in South Texas starts being reasonable again.
