<< Remember the ?good old days? when threads evolved into subjects like hunting, politics, eating habits, clothing ... >>

Well, I'm doing my level best to divert this thread to Irish whiskey -- a much more pleasant topic for St. Patrick's Day than the dreary prospect of a long-drawn-out, hideously expensive US presidential campaign.

Slainche!

I don't mind the Irish Whiskey diversion at all; in fact, it's been rather informative. Thank you, Billy, for the whiskey trivia!

Now I just hope that some of you don't start pulling out Cuban cigars to go with that Irish Whiskey!

Oh good, there's a "neither" option.... **smirk**

Well, see, I used to like Bushie, but he lied about all the crap in Iraq and you know, if he had been honest in his intentions, I might have supported his decisions, however he fudged the data and I'm not too happy about that.

Kerry just strikes me as someone who thinks he's "due."

He's tried to run before and lost within his own party.

I don't like him much. I liked the other Democratic frontrunner better...

For what it's worth, I'm registered republican, but I'm a "free thinker" and don't vote on party lines.

What I'll never understand is, if no one voted for the winner, how is it that the electoral college cast the votes to put the winner in office? Seems like everyone I talked to did not vote for the elected person, but they still won the election. Can anyone explain this to me?

I'm convinced--It's rigged!

Kerry hands down! I like the idea of removing an (*^& from office. Lets not forget ALL his blunders. Like almost getting us into a war with the worlds largest army, and one we know the least about, China. Or the time he he pissed off japan for not having the good sence to call the day our great navy sank a fishing boat " by accident". Or pissing off the Okanowan people (SP?) for haveing one of our tanks accidently run over two people. Or in the same area when two Gis were arrested for raping a teen, and let them go. Or getting in a nuke arms facedown with N. Korea. Not to mention his illegal assault on two other nations for weapons we never have found. Or the illeagal detaining of people because he said so. Or his highly questionable winning of the office. Further more he wants to set our constitution back to the stone ages. After all all the gay community wants is to be able to give medical power of attorney to there partner and the right to pass there belongings on to there partner, including life insurance benifits. Further more yet , his stumbling over simple words. Mr. Bush has broken many many laws and should also be held accountable!!!!! At least Clintin didn't kill hundreds of people. Many of which didn't have anything to do with the 9-11 attack. Further more he started what is called the home security, which has long been told by the courts they can not be taping into computer and phones at will to , but they keep on doing it. Thats the republicans for ya. The laws don't apply to them. Funny, look up what the name gestopo (SP?) means!!! As the CEO of the country he has failed misserably. In any other major company the board would fire him.

Funny.... I thought Clinton was the President of ?stumbling over simple words?

Clinton? Always putting his *^* where it doesn?t belong. How?d he find his way into this thread? I don?t think he deserves the space (at least a book or 3, or 5) that it would take to list his faults as a man and leader.

Med.... this is a prime example of how a thread can deteriorate. May I suggest trying to find positive things about the man of your choice and keep the finger pointing to yourself?

Regardless of who wins, we need to keep these men, the leaders of our nation, our country and our service men and women constantly in our prayers.

I bet some of us don't even vote at general election (certainly am not speaking of VR members). It is my very strong opinion that if people do NOT vote in the election, they have no valid opinion to offer - without a vote, opinions don't count anywhere - so here is a site where you can register if you need/want to:

https://www.workingforchange.com/vote/index.cfm?ms=AFC006

Register - then VOTE - no matter for whom.
