Buckeye.. We may have a problem as I am a Nittany Lion Fan:D

but I guess we can get past that:)

Ok.. you sound very much like me.. I am a 43yo mom with 4 kids (see above photo?)
I have been monitored every 2 years with an echo and have never had anything more than a mild regurgitation. 2 years ago it went to moderate.. my cardio thought it to be NO big deal.. I have had it forever and if it made its first move at the age of 40.. wellit could be another 40year before anything else happened.
In between there I had issues with another heart problem that I have and had to have a defibrillator implanted..
fast forward to March 29.. I had my echo (2year since the last one)

April 1 I get a call that I need to see a surgeon I am not leaking at 85% and it is severe..
I WAS symptomatic.. and just thought I was getting old and out of shape ( I am not overweight and don't consider 43 old)
I had surgery May 5.. my surgeon said if I would have waited any longer I would have had other heart problems b/c the valve was much worse when he saw it than any of the tests showed.

so my advice is IF you have a bit of time... DO your HOMEWORK.. ask around.. and get 2nd 3rd and even 4th opinions if you need to..
Cleveland clinic was the second choice I had...it was just too far from home for me.
Ask away here.. you will get tons of infor

and again Welcome!!
