Happy birthday, Katie, and many, many more !
I hope she has a wonderful birthday and many many more in her future. Through the years I've laughed at her antics and your way of telling us about them. I've often shed tears and uttered many a prayer for our little Katie. So seeing your post today has really touched me as she reaches yet one more milestone. Thanks for sharing her with us again.

Thank you so much! I have to confess I am still in disbelief! I cannot believe Katie is 8 years old, in second grade, and has been surgery free for the last 3 and 1/2 years - making history here! WOW!
She did have a grand day, although she was upset that she had to go to school. Katie has decided that her birthday should be a [federal] holiday, that we should have all stayed home and gone to the zoo. (Course I have to wonder why I would want to go to the zoo when I live in one, never knowing what animal Katie is going to be next, although the lion still seems to be her favorite.............did I ever tell y'all that when the Make A Wish folks came out to interview her a couple of years back that she told them her number one wish was to become a real lion? Her second was for Lola Bunny [Bugs' girlfriend] to come to life?)
Anyway, once she got to school, and they announced her birthday over the intercom, she deemed that quite acceptable and it was okay to go to school on your birthday! 'Course I guess we are going to have to hit the "real" zoo this weekend.............sigh!
Thank y'all so much for cheering and praying us on the last four years (has it really been four years????). Will try and get some pics posted...................before the end of the year maybe?
