I'm hoping that this no news is good news and that they are just busy getting her moved to a new room and getting her up and walking and just haven't had time to post an update.
Many of us spend 3 or 4 days in ICU with, what I would call, routine hiccups such as A-fib, high BP, breathing issues, insulin problems, liver issues, aneamia ( I had the lot and had to get 2 units of blood) etc. Hope this is what's keeping her in ICU.....
Hey thought I would have to have a pacemaker. but it is starting to look good. still in ICU another day at least. Having some problems with my vocal cords. will update in depth when I am home.
Not gonna move to a regular room today. They are saying that the bottom of the heart and the top of the heart are not communicating like they should. This means that a pacemaker is going to be put in. Not sure on the day yet but it will more than likely be this week.
Got the laptop, but it makes me light headed so I don'r use it. Things got worse last night, and looks like I will need the pacemaker. still stuck here in ICU. let me say I prefer coughing to vomitting any day. They said I can get out of ICU after the pace maker, and maybe be home within 2-3 days of that. They brought my son to me today. Best moment ever. I had to walk to him, but I was glad to. He is very curious and seems to understand what is going on alright. Keep praying
The pacer isn't bad! I felt SOOOO much better as soon as I woke up with mine after my MVR! The slow HR had me so draggy in ICU. Your heart has been insulted, and it's got scar tissue developing, all of which contribute to the heart block (non-communicating) issue. That's ok.
Your pacer will likely need some adjustments as you heal, until they figure out your optimal settings. Don't be afraid to ask for adjustments.
Britt - Glad you got to see the little guy. He'll remember you walking out to him, and when he's old enough to really understand, that will be such a deep message of how much you love him. Still praying! Marcia
