Yes today I stay over night at a hotel the hospital provided for out of towners. First I have to say thanks to all of you for all your kindness and advice and Margarite for starting the thread to wish me well. I live approx 50 miles from NYC where New York University Hospital is located so relatives are watching the kids and the dog, my wife Leigh and I are about to take the train in. I chose not to bring my laptop with me because I dont want my wife to have to carry it around while worrying about me and it makes for a lighter travel. This will be my last contact before my Zipper Club Hazing.

They call me this evening at the hotel to tell me when to show up in the AM for surgery. Dr Stephen Colvin will perform the surgery minimally invasive and I have chosen the Porcine Valve. Although I am a little young to go tissue, my crap shoot is to hope for an an uneventfull non medicated future. I have faith in medical technology and hope that when and if I need re-surgery there will be other less invasive ways to take care of it, similar to like the post from patty PHD under the advancement forum http://www.lifesciencemedia.com/staging/1788/1788wmv/ I'll miss you guys while away in the hospital and look foward to posting back soon. I will try to have my wife Leigh give you all a heads up ASAP..........Love Jay!! :p ;)

Jay,

You sound like you are ready and now all you have to do is let the others do the work (you will have enough to do during recovery).

Best wishes for you and your family. See you on the other side.

Godspeed.

I wish you the very best of luck Jay and hope that all goes well for you and your family! Keep up those great spirits and know that we are all praying/thinking about you. :D

You sound great! All decided and ready! I've probably missed you, but that's okay. It's gonna be easy for you tomorrow....all you have to do is sleep! Here's a well wish to Leigh that the snack machine is full of her favorite M & M's and the reading material is up to date! I was glad I was the patient!

Really, though. Best of luck and I know we'll be hearing your good news real soon (I'll be in SFO until Monday night and no computer, either :( )

Wishing you a safe journey.

Marguerite (you're welcome!;) )

Probably missed you, but want to wish you the best of surgeries and an uneventful recovery. Will look forward to your posts-post surgery.

JayF-HELP!

I am using Dr C for my sons AVR and accending valve repair. I am in Roslyn, Nassau County. Can you email me at [email protected]. I'd like to hear what your take on him is. Oh, my son is also a drummer. I guess I'll have to store the kit for a while.
Best to you and your recovery.
