I am celebrating life once again today after having undured two back to back AVR's on 8/7/2000 & 8/18/2000. I am so grateful that this life saving procedure was available and grateful to our God to be alive and well today. Life is good with my supportive family and I couldn't have done it without them. This site also helped me a great deal and put my mind at ease.I love you guys and have met many of you already at the yearly reunions.
I wasn't educated about open heart surgery at all but I searched for the correct info and once I became informed and educated about the surgery it didn't seem so scary any longer.
For the people that are in the waiting room, there is great life after valve surgery and I am living proof of that. I am taking as best care of myself as I know how and for the rest am doing the best I can. I have had many good days but also some bad days but they really had nothing to do with the surgeries. It's just the ups and downs of life and I believe everyone goes through that.
Cheers,
