Al,

Since my last post here I had another bout of a-fib. This time I spent the night in hospital and am now put on Multaq. It's 4 days on it now and no a-fib yet, hopefully I"ll stay that way. Looks like 3 months on the Multaq and Metoprolol. I have 2 cardiologists, the local one and the one where I had surgery 5 hours away. The local guy put me on both meds and the other suggested I stop the Metoprolol until I'm done with the Multaq and then go back on.

I'll see my local local Cardiologist Thurs and ask about that advice then. I'll also ask about Sotalol.

Thanks, Doug

I had to take the Sotalol for about three months but it got rid of my post-op A-fib/A-flutter right away. They rehospitalized me for a few days to put me on it. While I was back in the hospital, they gave me magnesium IVs, which are also supposed to help with the A-fib issue. Glad you are feeling better :)
