....now if only a "Money-Fairy" could pay for my airfare I would be there ASAP

the news on that troublesome ankle is getting better each time we hear about it...this is really good. I do hope he is off those damn smokes as they wont help in his recovery.

Ross,

Thank you for the updates on Chris. Great to hear that the surgery went well. We'll pray that the recovery goes as well! I am impressed that you got an orthopedic surgeon onboard so quickly. Last I heard the whole $/insurance issues was pressing down on everyone. I missed the part that explained where this doc came from and who's paying him.

Best wishes,

David

David we don't really know who is paying. They've gotten 2 attorney's on board and Savannahs insurance is supposed to be taking the health claims, but this is going to far exceed both of their policy limits without a doubt.

Chris' local Ortho is the man responisble for finding the specialist and setting up the appointment.

The trial begins. Chris is now running a fever. 102.5 last night. I tried to get a nurse on the phone to inquire whether the Doctor has been notified or not and she will not come to the phone. I was told to ask Chris. I told the nurse that I did speak to, that if I wanted to know that from my son, I would be asking him and not them. They are terribly short handed up there and unless someone is around all the time, they just don't get things done. I would think that if the Doctor knew about the fever, he'd want some blood cultures done to see what he's dealing with. Chris is losing it, I'm losing it too because I can't get anyone with any authority to answer questions.

Lyn is sick. I don't want her near him like she is at the moment and she's my only way up there. I'm waiting to see if my middle son gets all his stuffed moved today, so that maybe he and I can go up later. He has to be out of his old apartment and into the new today. No choices in the matter.

This is aggravating!

So sorry about this new development, Ross. Hope you get some answers pronto and they get to the bottom of the fever. Prayers and hugs still speeding your way.

Ross, are the HIPPA laws affecting your ability to get answers for your son, since he is of age? If so, your son may have to sign a waiver so you can help him with his care.

Oh goodness Ross... Seems like one thing after another for your family!

Try to stay well.. that means REST..and try not to worry.. I know that is easier said than done..

you already know to be your sons biggest advocate.. and sounds like you are doing your best.

I will continue to pray for you.. Chris for his fever to break and for NO infection!!
and for Lyn to recover quickly from her illness.

I am sorry for this long rough ride your family is on.
thanks for keeping us posted, so that we can pray for you!

He has granted full permission in writing that I be informed of his care. It's simply that they are short handed and the nurse refuses to leave the floor to answer questions.

Hi Rossman

We got back from our dog show early this morning, and I just checked in to see the developments with Chris. Everything will work out.....the most important thing has already been done and that is the surgery. The infection can and will be taken care of with major drugs, I just know everything will be ok.

I thought about you guys and Nancy and Joe all weekend......I'm so glad to see all is getting back to normal.

HAPPY COLONOSCOPY!!!!!! UGH!!!

Evelyn

Dear Ross:

You have been fabulous about keeping us informed. I've thought of you, and your family, all weekend. I can only say, that I wish you, and Lynn, the best. Is there anything, any of us could do to help out?

Ross,

Just continuing to pray here. Wish I could help more.

Me too. I hope your middle son gets moved so you can go to see Chris.

I didn't get to go today. Chris called really upset. Said they aren't doing anything to help reduce his fever, no acetaminophen or anything of that nature, just cold clothes and ice packs. He is up to 102.9. Doc is now running blood cultures, but we all know they take a while to get results from.

This is so aggravating. I'm catching whatever Lyn has and this kid needs someone there all the time. I know very well what it's like. I don't want to risk making him sicker or adding something new that may mask an infection of the foot. All I can ask is, what are all of us to learn from this lesson? Has to be happening like this for a reason. Just knew what it was.

I have no answers Ross, but you all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry Ross.. no answers either.. Could Chris possibly have caught what you and LYn have? and just be very sick with it?
either way.. praying tonight for his comfort and health and your peace of mind and health !
