when you check in go to the bottom of the page and you will find lots of info as to who's online, how many guests, how many members, etc.

1849 ACTIVE members. We've deleted bunches of dead accounts where people haven't logged in nor posted in over a year. If we hadn't done that, the number would be 3408.

So, I guess I was too embarrassed to join and be a depressed and miserable person....as if the frigid canadian winters weren't enough!!!!

I pretty much gave up and was ready to go. Of course I was in CSICU for 50 days to and that alone will take a huge toll on a person.

I feel as if I already know some of you from all of my readings.
My post surgery story is really different compared to some of you fit and strong types...I was a hopeless mess.
16 days in hospital, 6 weeks in pyjamas,
9 weeks of home care nurse for wound management and blood draws,
4 months of husband working from home.
poor guy, he deserves a medal for sure; instead I agreeded to a lovely antique farm tractor.
I feel as if I already know some of you from all of my readings.
My post surgery story is really different compared to some of you fit and strong types...I was a hopeless mess.

50 days in CSICU, another 10 days in rehab learning to walk and write again, Sent home on IV Antibiotics for a Staph infection and home health care for 8 weeks afterwards. Yeap, I know what you mean by a mess.

I thought AVRs were generally safe these days.

I have lung disease in addition to the heart problems. On my AVR, they decided to go snipping on my lungs as well as remove some growth in the apex of my heart plus repair a incisional hernia all in the same swoop. It was a bit more then my body could handle. My lung collapsed shortly after surgery, I got a Staph infection off of an IV line that nearly killed me, and well just everything that could go wrong, did.
There sure are some scary stories to share, and still we survive
......had to go to the ER friday night.
I was eating supper, a treat of vegetarian pizza, when my heart starts pounding and I'm getting very faint and seeing black; hubby brings me to lie down, blackness passes. BP is higher than I like, so I take my meds 1 hour early. I thought now I'm okay, then my heart starts to dance around, so we call 911.
ECG, blood work, all seem fine, stayed on a monitor for a couple of hours and went home.
Any ideas on why I would get faint from borderline high BP?
I take metoprolol 37 mg twice a day.
