Good not to care what people think and then there's reality. It could be really socially awkward if you were single and have little to no family. It's also a serious mental problem some people end up doing the surgery again and getting a tissue valve because they can't stand the ticking I know of at least a few people that have committed suicide from the ticking. I've already got ringing of the ears for 28 years I'm already hearing noises in my head since December 1996 Duty hearing loss I don't need a second sound coming out of my body but again to each their own.. having a sound coming out of your body is abnormal reminds you that you're have an
artificial valve.
Everyone has a different threshold. I repeat, I don't give a damn.
People were dying 100 years ago without even knowing that their heart valves were faulty. I guess if they were given a choice but told that they would get a tic toc sound from their chest as a result, they would not have said no, I don't want to buy it.

Well, patience is not something we are born with, takes work to acquire, other than that i have a mech valve since 2015 and i hear nothing at all; i do hear the pigeons in the balcony though, but if anything, yes i take warfarin which with Pellicle i learned it not the boogie man before i made my decision, but one thing lets me sleep very well, 99% probability that i will not have another heart surgery, and i dont believe in tavi as a solultion for anybody less than 84; because if they can tavi , the tavi-valve will not last as much as a regular size valve; and that is just "my opinion" does not mean i am right, nor that i am wrong, :)

You’re talking about two separate issues. There’s the heart issue, then there’s the mental health issue. Ticking doesn’t cause anyone to commit suicide. Mental health issues do. People with mental health issues will often find a reason.

What ticking ?, i dont hear anything, and i am not deaf :)
I hear my valve tick. There are times I don’t. But in a quiet room I can always hear it. However, being mostly stable and well adjusted, I accept it for what it is and it doesn’t have an impact on my day to day living or my mood or anything. At most, it’s my go to, “Tell us something unique about you”, introduction.
