Made the decision

I have had severe aortic stenosis (with a bi-valve) for several years, actually diagnosed in 1998. It progressed to the point where ignoring it is no longer an option. After some research and discussions with several cardiologists and my surgeon, I have decided to go with the tissue (bovine) valve based on the avoidance of warfarin and the belief that the new procedures to deliver a replacement valve via a catheter-like method will be common place by the time I need it replaced. I am 58.

I go in on the 16th (in Singapore) for an angio, followed by surgery on the 17th of January.
