Thanks everyone! I've dropped another 10 pounds, now I only have 40 to go to reach my goal. I think me going back to work has really helped. I do like my job although it can be very stressfull sometimes. I'm on my feet a lot and I walk a lot. That's the only problem I have had is my back really hurts a lot. I wear scrubs and good tennis shoes so it's not the shoes. I think it's just that I'm not used to standing so long and the unit chairs are not the best. You would think a hospital would have good chairs. The problem is they are adjustable and eveyone uses them, so I get one adjusted just right for my back and by the time I come back the next day it's adjusted for someone else. Bummer!

On regards to the sweet tea for Cort I'm sure the hotel will have sweet tea! !:) I guess I shouldn't have posted my cell on this forum but if anyone wants to call me I don't care. I don't carry my phone with me at work. I wouldn't have time to answer it anyway.

Made it! !

Hi everyone! Well I made it, as of yesterday I have lost 66 pounds. I turned 66 on June 10 and I've lost 66. It's taken me seven months. I still need to lose about 50 more but I'm half way there. I feel so much better. I went for my regular check up with heart doctor yesterday and he said my aorta valve hasn't changed since last time. He said to keep up the good work. He also said that I would still have to have the aorta replaced again soon. Me loosing all that weight and working out won't change that, it will only help me recover faster from the surgery. Bummer! ! He said for some reason I am one of the unlucky people that their body rejects the pigs valve. I've only had it five years. I sure don't look forward to this surgery again. He said we would put it off as long as possible but when I get short of breath and can't breathe to get to the ER immediately. I hope this happens while I'm at work, that would be so much easier, and faster. I could just walk downstairs and all my doctor's are already there.

I do love my job. Now if the doctor's would only learn to write. It took three RN's and myself to decifer a Dr.'s orders the other day. It's weird, they can be so smart but can't write! ! Don't figure. I finally had to end up calling him. He was real apologic but that didn't help. It slows me me down so much entering the orders on the computer when I can't read them. I have caught on real fast to the medicals terms and the latin terms they use and after you get to know the doctor you can more or less figure out that he'll order the same tests and give them same kind of medicine to all his patients.

Love everyone and sorry I don't get on very much anymore. I get home around 11:45 pm, in bed by 12:30. I ususally sleep till 9:00 am and then do my regular housework, laundry and mowing, grocery shopping the rest of the morning and by then it's time to go back to work so I don't spend any time watching tv or less time o the computer. But I do try to check in once in a while. I had some spare time this morning so here I am! ! !

Wow- Congratulations on the weight loss success! And I'm so glad you love your job.

Happy Belated Birthday. Congratulation on your weight loss. It sucks that you need OHS again, but I will pray that it is still a loooooong way off. It was great reading your post. I am so happy that the new job makes you very happy. Keep us posted as time permits.:D

Congratulations Glenda! That's awesome. Maybe you have a few tips for those of us over at Cooker's Weight Loss Throwdown.

Happy belated birthday, and keep up the good work. You have done so well. do you have any recipes for us trying to lose?

Glenda I am thrilled everything is going so well, you sound very happy. Congradulations on your weight loss. I'm sure that helps your knees too. I hope your valve last years.

Wow! That is an amazing weight loss! You should be very proud of yourself because that takes a lot of discipline & determination on your part! Good going!

I also pray that you don't have to have OHS anytime soon but/if and when the time arrives, you will be ready to tackle that with the same determination & will power!

Take care! :)

Congratulations Glenda! What an inspiration you are to me, I need to lose weight too. Keep up the good work. Glad your job is working out and you are enjoying it. Check in more often if you can. :)

Happy belated birthday. Congratulations on the weight loss. That is quite an accomplishment, especially since you are so busy and I'm sure it would be easy to grab fast (fatty) food.

Hope you surprise the doctors and your valve lasts a long time.

Great job with the weight loss, Glenda! I do think you can do anything you put your mind to; you're an inspiration.:)

ahhhh, that is fantastic news Glenda, good for you and it sounds like your having fun at work and that's excellent.

A true inspiration you are to all of us.

Thanks for the up-date and DO drop in when you can, love hearing from you.

Good for you Glenda! 66 pounds!! What is your secret? I have been saying I need to get going again. I just stay the same for now. Sounds like work is going ok. My doc can't write either. His nurse writes it all and he signs it. Seems like all the school they go to, they would learn to write. Hope your valve is a long way off. Great hearing from you. Best of luck

Congratulations Glenda! That weight loss is fantastic and I'm so glad you love your job. What a blessing! Will pray that valve lasts quite a while longer! You're an inspiration to everyone! LINDA
