Losing patience (hate word wait)

Morning everyone,

Some of my pm's i recieved are wondering,cus i made a note in

one of the other posts i spoke with my sugeon,yes i did he called

and long story short people are being sent home as far as New Orleans

without surgery due to crunch of delay of opening the new part(wing)

He is very aware of my circumstances from my family Dr.who is also

presently on holidays till Dec 8th or 1oth.

The issue is i need to get my valve done and the o.r. is overly booked

by other doc's and himself then theres that .....But....... i should be

done in next week or two,even if we get o.r. open for christmas eve

without any emergencies,he is willing to do it then.

For now hes asked me to (WAIT) till next week for a call from him

to see if i can get this done,see what arrangements can be made,into

this time frame and didnot hesitate to say i need to be done soon.

So we wait for next call from him or his office,hopefully it won't take

till after christmas.........But who knows for sure.

Update on this iv'e heard nothing so aim for what date now

I'm starting to find this commical........i know i know but i've had a

good week ,feeling soooooooo good wonder how long it will

will last Oh well i have no update to give since i spoke

to surgeon on the phone and i'm done a new bottle of pills for

fluid and have to see my Family doc who is back from holidays

now.......Hooray we should have a lottery for guess of my date

of my surgery........anyone??? when will they call me

Have to see what the prize is lol for winner

Thats all i know ..........nothing

If you squeak at your family doc today, then you will get a call before the day is done. I'm confident that there'll be an CICU bed for you and you'll be surgery #1 on the 9th. That way, barring a Monday night emergency you'll be in the OR before the morning rush of cardiac events in the city on Tuesday. Mondays are usually taken over by the weekend transplant load occupying the intensive care beds. Unfortunately, Friday and Saturday nights keep the ORs busy harvesting and sharing these precious gifts. You can't have your surgery until the heart-lung machines are all cleaned and there's a bed for you in the recovery ward.

Take Heart, Deb, I'm sure they'll be contacting you sooner than later.

Wow! I missed this thread, but youre going through an epic wait Deb! I know how you feel on one level, but I only had a week of this kind of waiting worry / stress, it must be hard

Everything thats tough for you now will only make it all that bit sweeter when it's all over They all say it, and it is true, the waiting is the hard part - so youre doing the toguh stuff now, once you get the date it all gets easier

Yes the waiting sucks BIG time. We did a lot of waiting and had a few cancelations too, sure know how your feeling. Try to stay strong, all the best.

Pam....i didn't go in to see my Doc but he sure questioned Chels on

shantals appt.this a.m. regarding me home yet

Paula i recall Curtis and waiting and cancellations to boot

Dan yup ummmm the EPIC is bad for everyone around me,when i

spoke to my surgeon on phone the 26th i was better,but this morning

my mom called to see what the hell the hold up is,she was quite ticked

off with waiting already herself,cus she wants it over too,shes 7 hours

away and making dam sure she doesn't miss anything with this surgery.

I kinda calmed down with wait but everyone else is hyper including

my hubby,he wants it over to. Oh well what better way to learn PATIENCE

My day has to come sooner or later and then the 4 hour drive

down there yet will seem like an eternity,cus the waits been so long.

I'm just praying no health complications arise like a cold or flu

don't need any extra waiting cus of that. Im bleached and sanitized

from all that come near me,my hubby sneezes he runs for another

room and gets sanitized lol i was very,very careful around my

grandaughter with her strep and at the hospital being with them.

So gotta go decorate a gingerbread house now with GD.
