Just spoke with Dale

I just got off the phone with 'Dale' and she seems to be in pretty good spirits considering tomorrow is the big day. She and hubby are staying at a hotel tonight so that they are close to the hospital as she is scheduled to be in the OR at 7:45 tomorrow morning. I asked her if she was going to kick up her heels and have a little glass of vino to get the edge off. Here is her reply: "As a matter of fact, I called the hospital to check about this. I could hear the secretary yell out to two OR nurses 'There is a patient who is scheduled for the OR tomorrow and wants to know if it is OK if she has a glass of wine. Two nurses replied in tandem " Are you kidding (they thought the secretary was pulling their leg) and then a firm NO! Then another nurse replied she can if she wants to, but I don't recommend it". So... she got her answer. It will have to be a virgin caesar or decaf latte instead.
I will keep you posted on her progress tomorrow once I get an update post surgery. She said to say a big thank you to everyone for all their great support!

That is really nice of you to keep in touch with Dale.....I hope her hubby manages to keep her out of the bar tonight.
My hospital took me in the night before so that I couldn't escape.....
