Yikes, Ross! I can't offer anything but a word of support and sympathy. But you sure have gotten some good ideas from folks. And what a letter PJmomrunner wrote! I really hope that bears fruit for you. And as others have said if I can sign any letters/petitions etc. that would help I am more than happy to do so.

Nope.

I've called 4 contractors about written estimates. 1 called back and he has yet to show up. If I can't get these guys to cooperate, how the hell am I going to get a variance?

I just tuned into this thread.. Ross my head is spinning with you wow.. what a mess. Apparently this happened in the neighborhood I live, right before we moved here.. but they broke down that 8000 over the course of 5 years on the sewer bills. How could anyone come up with that amount of money so quickly.

That is far more then my budget can withstand and that $8000 figure could well be too low. I'm just guessing at this point.
