Damn you Cooker?.

Damn you Cooker?.

For starting this thread- it made me raid the frig and I ate way too much.

I would like to give an honor mention award to a restaurant chain that I worked at during the ?70s. It was called Lumm?s and they had a 4 to 1 all beef casing hot dog steamed in beer in a sourdough bun topped with your choice of melted cheddar, sauerkraut and onions. They also put Lawry?s Season and hot sauce on their F-fries. I make it at home to this day as they have been long gone, RIP.:)

Wow, I?m hungry again. COOKER! Did you put something in my brownies?;) :p :D

Before I lived in Kentucky, there was a Lumm's here in Frankfort. I've heard several times about how popular it was locally. The Lumm's here in Frankfort was sold and it became "Sandy's Steakhouse". My mother worked at Sandy's over 20 years until it was sold, torn down, and replaced with a bank  .
I had never heard of Lumm's from anyone else until now. Cool!

Back to the dogs, I just can't do mayo, mustard, ketchup....but bring on the rest of it (except the kraut).

Cooker, I must've got some of the batch that RCB got into. I still stayed with my eating planning though. :p

It has been so hot that I have not been walking. Hell I have given up everything except food and......;) ladies and I'll be danmed if I am giving up either one of those.........pass the relish:D

IMHO, you're better off fat than to continue smoking! Kudos to you for quitting.

Also, IMHO, you're better with the gum than with real thing. My mother still uses the gum and it has been 2 1/2 years since she quit.

So, I'm passing the relish....

there were Lum's in Florida -when my son was little he was hospitalized several times and I stayed nights in a motel across from the hospital. Right next door to it was a Lum's and I'd pick up one of their hot dogs on the way to the motel and it made the best supper!

we have a hot dog hole in the wall right here in town - it was owned and run by two sisters for about 20-30 yrs. They personally cooked and served hundreds of hamburgers and hot dogs every day and people came from surrounding counties for their food. They had the counter, old stools screwed into the floor, the drink box where you went and got your own. Every bit of the meat was extra fine. All cheap, too. Someone bought it from them and the meat is not first quality and prices went way up. shame.....

Great memories Ann! What we do to make others happy makes life worth living, doesn't it? Not big fan of hot dogs but choose hebrew national with sauerkraut rolled in whole wheat bread or buns when i do eat them. Got to have mustard too.

Gina,

I had a friend who introduced me to Cincinnati Chili!!! I LOVED it. Had it on spaget noodles with raw onion and sharpe chedar cheese on top!!! Out of this world.

If anybody can mail me a few packs of the seasoning I wil pay full price plus shipping and handling.......Just love it.

Tom
Tom,

Send me a PM with your address and I will see that you get some seasoning. I also have a recipe from a cookbook that is a reasonable facsimile.

Okay, this is weird, but I came up with this concoction as a kid and I still love to do it if the ingredients are all around.

Mustard, relish and onions first, then baked beans and top it off with potato chips!!!!! The baked beans and chips give it a nice salty-sweet topping.

$1.59 per envelope and comes in yes, you guessed it, an envelope like other spice mixes. Says it will make 2 quarts of sauce.

Ross, I thought it came in packs. Gina is going to send me some. Can't wait to share it with some friends. I know they will love it.

If you want to call it packs, then that's what it is. Just like McCormick sloppy joes, gravies, etc., that kind of pack. Yeah buddy, have a Cinci sauce party and blow your friends stomachs to pieces. :D

So that's how you keep that sexy figure. :)
