The coldest day so far this winter. 15 degrees here..birdbaths frozen...I bet you folks up North are freezing. Take care and dress warm :D Saw it was 50 in Miami.. Bonnie

It was 0 this morning with a windchill of -20. That's pretty cold. I put on all of my gear and the dog's as well to go for our early morning walk. Had my snow pants, YakTrax, balaclava, snorkel coat, double lined mittens--dog had her coat and lined boots. Never felt a thing.

It's supposed to go below zero toward the end of the week. We've been lucky so far. I guess we have to have a little winter.

Cold here!

Cold here!

Hey it's warming up here. It's 1 now, it was 0 when I got up. I am thinking of breaking out the shorts if this trend continues :D Maybe I got frostbite on my brain!! I am a little concerned though, the people next door to us have their dog out in this weather. He seems to be out ALL the time. I don't see a dog house or any type of shelter. If he is seems to be out there for hours without going in I may have to call someone. The dog barks alot so its easy to tell when he is out. They rent the house so I don't know what the policy is on dogs. Maybe that is why he is out so much, but today he needs to be in. Sorry, just needed to vent. I hate to see people keeping their pets outside in the cold.

I Am In The Deep Freeze!!!

Currently 58 deg F here in Sarasota - pretty chilly for us. Bad beach weather...

Mark ;)

chilly 58 OH I wish!!

chilly 58 OH I wish!!

Boy I would take a chilly 58 degrees right now!! I just took my son to school and it was so cold I had to scrap ice off the inside windows and well as the outside of our van! Plus the locks were frozen!! According to my weather alert on my computer we are UP TO 10 degrees with a real feel of -3. AAUGH!!! We have a weather system headed our way tonight, another on Thursday and possibly another on Saturday! I am so tired of shoveling snow. It is very hard on my athma, but I am not about to let Jeff do it so soon after his surgery! Come on Spring!!

I agree, 58 degrees sound positively balmy.
It was below 0 here last night and it's made it all the way up to 15 right now but with quite a wind chill factor so I'm guessing feels around 5 (I am still stuck inside with bronchitis so I am avoiding this cold - at least outside).
I was living in Santa Monica, CA last year so I am really suffering. However, I am not sure I would want to be in Southern CA right now either.
I am thinking maybe Figi? Anyone want to come?
Chattering with smiles, :)

I am Right there with you Gina, as I have both Bronchitis and a Viral Infection going on right now myself...I am at a whopping 7 degrees right now, but it's supposed to get really cold tonight....Hope your feeling better...Harrybaby666 :D :D :D

Thanks Harry. I hope you get better soon, too. I have orders to stay in bed until my temp is below 99 for 24 hours. Since it's still at 101, I am going a bit stir crazy.
Oh well, at least I have you guys.
Smiles, :)

I was in Alexandria LA last weekend for a cat show. Weather was very nippy for Alexandria (in central Louisiana, between Shreveport & Lafayette LA) ... hard freeze Friday & Saturday nights. Sunday I was soooo cold at the cat show that I had a turtleneck & sweatshirt on and added my PolarTek vest. Was about to add my heavy-duty parka when I finally began to thaw out.
Don't know what I would have done if I had been outdoors.
I phoned my hubby to let him know we were on the road to home (about a 350-mile trip) and he said it was extremely cold back home, had finally hit 40 when sun came out @ 4 p.m.

We're supposed to have a warm spell later this week. I'd like to have a defined winter .... makes summer's sizzle more tolerable.

Gina:
Hope you're feeling better. I've ordered decent weather when I come to Columbus OH Feb. 4-6. Hope we can finally meet.
BTW, the Aby I'm showing is so rambunctious in the judging ring that folks ask if I let her have run of the house. Nope, I tell them; run of the house is only 1 letter removed from ruin of the house. ;)

dang cold here, too. 20 this a.m. hard freeze; tonight, too. Would love to be in Sorrysota with Mark and my son. Bet they are wearing jackets over their shorts. Like we used to do as kids, in Miami, when it was in the 50s

The only thing that calms my Rufus(Solid black, with big green eyes and weighs a LOt)is cold weather. He asked to still go outside at 6 a.m. to potty..but back at the front door soon. :p Wants to go back on porch when sun is shining on front porch. Back in all day, today. He does NOT like cold weather. :p Good, he doesn't need to be outside....but drives me crazy..if I don't let him out for a little during the day. Bonnie

Hi Marsha,
I am feeling better but not best - yet.
I have entered one of my Abys in the show, the other is just too growly at shows to do well as a grand. Hopefully the one I am showing did not pick up bad behavior patterns from the other one.
Mine do have the run of the house and are fairly well-behaved. However, I am told that "spoiling" them makes them unsuitable as show cats. I guess we will see. The one I am showing was never a "poser" at a show, usually a little trembly but I haven't shown him for over a year so, who knows?
Anyway, it will be fun meeting you and I like shows in general so, even if this turns out to be his "retirement" show, I will still enjoy the weekend.
Looking forward to good health and friends AND warm weather.
Smiles, :)

It BRIEFLY said 6? on the dashboard in my car this morning when I tried to start it. The lights flickered and dimmed as the starter motor let out a gasping protest and that was that....

Now it's on a "defibulator" trying to recharge the battery. Will try starting it in a day or two when the weather's supposed to warm up...

Or so they say.

I took the "spare" car to my classes (new semester started, whoo, hoo...) and the reading on that dashboard never went above 12?. Spent most of the day around 6?.

However, the sun was out most of the day and there was hardly any wind and it really didn't feel as cold as everything said it was.

This is how I like it though in the winter time, friggin cold!!! :D

After all the rain, landslides and floods, it was 80 here for the 2nd consecutive
day.

Camarillo, CA where it is 67 at 9:30PM. Our summer nights are not this warm.

Going into the low 50's at night and only reaching the low 60's during the day for the last few days here in Boca Raton, FL. The natives are wearing winter coats, but we are content, especially when we get the weather reports from back home in CT! :)

This morning it was 2 when Tyce left for work. The wind chill was -8.....what fun. Tomorrow we're having a heat wave.....38 WHAHOO!!!! I'd sell my soul for 50!!!
