Jackie,
You go out there and enjoy that wedding! You deserve it girl after everything you have been through. I am wearing my 'scar' proudly. Good comments Andy :).
I hope the fever starts to subside. It has been a long haul. If you have pus coming from the top of the incision, it should be looked at.

Don't talk to me about M-I-L's.
Darn rights go to the wedding and enjoy yourself until your body says "I had enough". Is there something wrong with being the center of attention after what you've gone through?, besides, there's usually another guest who gets drunk and grabs the the lime light at a wedding besides the bride anyways.

I also second what Andy posted...jealously.

Do hope that fever breaks soon and you continue to do well.

Cheers!

Hey we must be twins...we have the same valve part and same scar (mine is 7 inches...must be discount scar)...better check our DNA!
It'll heal up soon...good thing is you can always wear a shirt. :)

Aloha...Eric

Malibu, there are some very nice tops and dresses with a "halter" style of neckline that will pretty much cover up your scar if you want to be inconspicuous at the relative's wedding this summer. There is also the option of a nice silk scarf knotted around your neck.

Malibu, this may sound weird but be sure to wear a bra as much as possible. The top of my incision opened up a little and now I have a raised spot at the top of my scar. I don't know for sure if it is from going bra-less after my surgery but that is what I have been told. My scar did this with both of my surgeries and it went away after a few years the first time. I'm hoping it goes away this time too.

Haha Bina. You're as bad as some of us pervert guys ;) Edited to say: Oops - I was replying to one of the older parts of this thread (Bina saying something about someone's 11 inch one - scar that is). I must have been at the end of page one instead of the end of page 2. Sorry for the confusion lol. But now that I'm the right page, Bina, you're still as bad as us perverts - yea, I'll be in the corner with ya alright. Me, you & Ross at least. Anyone else? Eric??? ;)

yeah i didnt wear one for the first week because i didnt think i could. then the minute i put one on i was like oh man i should have worn one since day one. i am noticing something going on with the top of the incision. i am not picking my scabs at all so the top scab looks like it it is sideways in the picture- its because its just hanging there like that, its still attached to the skin so i didn't want to pull it off. but it seems like when it does come off it will be a wider, deeper cut up there. here is a picture that kind of shows it from today:

thanks for the ideas, i had thought about that scarf idea already but i have to get the right dress to pull off that look. maybe i will search for the halter type dress. i know exactly what you are talking about.

Crabby, I know all about that.... we Jessie Golden and i were holed up for most of the weekend because of constant rain, come Sunday night I was so crabby and stiff it felt like i had eaten bear or something.

For the jumping, the Golden is now 5 and knows that jumping is not acceptable behaviour, exhuberance yes, jumping no, the problem is the darn cat that wants to jump up into my lap..ARGHHHH, but at least the cat is mostly outdoors this time of year.

But with all of this time off, i seem to be even more mood sensitive than usual at those rainy days.....but the plants need the rain....let there be more sun than rain for this summer season

my goldens are both 7 and one (the female) hasn't given up jumping and i dont think she ever will. i even brought her to a top kennel where they train police dogs. it did no good! she is crazy! i agree, the plants and my grass need the rain so i guessssssssss its okay!

Malibu, your scar is almost invisible already (except for the remaining scab)! Congrats! I wouldn't worry about the sideways scab - I bet it's just hanging sideways till it comes off (if that makes any sense). And I bet it'll probably fall off in the next day or two. I had some spots like that too - didn't affect the look of the scar at all once they came off. Towards the end there, I got brave and pulled a couple of the last scabs off - I still think it's more glue than scabs...

I'm still jealous. Y'all gots nice looking scars and I look like I got in a fight with a surgeon and lost.

I've been having trouble posting pics lately too. Seems to be picky about which format they're in. In my case it turns them into a link (which you can click on to see the pic) but won't show the pic anymore in the post itself (like I think it used to the first few times I put pics up). On the avatar thing - there's a trick - Ross posted it a few days ago but if you can't find it, I'll send a personal email to ya with the directions.
