Hi everyone. ok so maybe im starting to get paranoid with my cath and surgery coming up...but has anyone had non specific- and very fleeting moments with vibrations from the bad valve? it feels like a wheez almost right over my heart? my dr says its probably in my head but i know im not imagining it either! any one have this before? thanks!

i have what feels like a quiver effect over my heart only lasts a second or two , not sure what it is, its so brief i just except it

I know you guys are pre-surgery and I am not, however, I started having a weird sensation that I describe as a vibration in my left chest about a month and a half ago. It started out being only once or twice a week for a couple of seconds each time. I now have at least 30-40 of these everyday and they are lasting for longer periods of time. They don't feel like a "rhythm" thing, in fact, I've listened to my heart several times with a stethoscope when it is happening and nothing. So, long story short, I don't think you are imagining them, if you are, then I'm downright delusional by now.

I've spent the last couple of days searching everywhere trying to figure out what is causing this sensation. I finally broke down yesterday and sent my cardio at the Mayo an e-mail about it...if I hear back I'll let you know.

Yes, I get these off and on, last night was one of them. Mine last for more than an hour. It feels like a small vibration, yet the pulse is normal. I wonder if it is a muscle twitch of some sort?

Where were these wonderful descriptions when I needed them? :p

I think I very may well have felt these too. Are any of you averse to pressing the cardio for a heart monitor? Heart arythmmias (aside from being impossible to spell) are very common. Most are benign. However, some are not and it is worth investigation even if it is only bothering you psychologically.

If you find they are PVC's or other such benign things, you may choose to just live with them. Or if they are driving you crazy, you can use beta blockers to help assuage the niggling feeling.

FWIW, I would just let the cardio know that they are causing you anxiety and you want to find out what they are, would he/she please prescribe a holter monitor.... !!

Keep us posted.

It's not in your head, well, if it is, then it is in my head too : )

I feel flutters in my chest all the time. I described them as something flipped inside. Sometimes I also get a very strong beat. Not irregular but strong. I have to talk to my cardio about beta blockers. I used to pop a Xanax every time I felt those but now that I am used to it I don't any more.
